I wish I could give more than 5 stars to this book because it really does deserve it.The story starts with Detective Niko James getting a call he's been dreading. He's been searching for his childhood friend who mysteriously disappeared years ago it's the reason he became a police officer in the first place. As the blurb says 1 girl is found dead and another girl is found wandering the streets.Doe is a fascinating young woman she has no memory of who she is, where she's been and how she got her injuries.Reading the book was like watching a really good thriller it grabbed me and didn't let go. I became obsessed with every word every action every clue. The authors have created a story that at times made my skin crawl because 'he' is seriously creepy like off the charts creepy. So many twists and unexpected revelations that I never saw coming.I'm always amazed that I can never see the 'join' in co-author books, the two authors have excelled with this dark and gritty read.

My absolute favorite thing is walking into a story blind. It truly makes the whole experience better for me. I definitely suggest you do that with this story. I went in completely blind and loved it. I love dark reads and this story has those qualities but also those of a psychological thriller. It was a great blend of both that it had me all over the place emotionally. I won't give anything away but I will say this story sticks with you and you honesty think about it and read every chance you get. This story seemed like it went fast but in reality it's actually a long story which gives you all the greatness this story deserves. Loved this story and how seamlessly the authors wrote together.* * *
