#Tour #Reviews AFTER THE END by Natasha Preston @InkSlingerPR @natashavpreston

We are so excited to be bringing you the release of AFTER THE END by #1 New York Times bestselling author Natasha Preston.

AFTER THE END is brand new contemporary romance you don't want to miss!

About AFTER THE END

One fatal mistake changes Tilly and Linc’s lives forever, and things will never be the way they used to be.
After the tragedy, Lincoln and his family flee the hometown they are no longer welcome in
Four years later, still grieving the death of her brother, Tilly’s world is rocked again when Lincoln returns.
Distance and too much bad history haven’t stopped Lincoln from loving Tilly. He wants to beg for her forgiveness, but to avoid hurting her more, he tries to keep his distance from her…until he sees her fighting her feelings for him, and then nothing can keep him away.

When I read the synopsis I knew this book was going to be emotional but I had no way of knowing the impact the words would have.

Lincoln and Tilly were friends who grew up next door to each other, they were a group doing with their brothers. A tragic accident kills her brother and for the group of friends everything changes. The story picks up 4 years later when Lincoln comes home to sell his old home and old feelings start to surface.

I loved how the story focused on how the grief and loss touched everyone. It wasn't just the friends and families but also the people who live in the small town. I've not been through anything like this, however, I felt it was a realistic portrayal, it was easy to imagine myself in their shoes. I enjoyed reading Lincoln and Tilly's story and the secondary characters were ones I want to know more about too.

A well-written story that I really enjoyed.

After the End is a trying and emotionally charged book. With a premise that is sure to make your heart squeeze and an H that will melt you like an ice cube on the HOT sidewalk, it hard to think about the end.

But the end already happened and this book is all about what's next! Heartfelt and troubled, After the End is all about guilt. Guilt for actions you can't change. Survivor's Guilt. Guilt marrying the life you have and preventing the life you want.

After the End is a real-life romance - meaning hearts and flowers need not apply. It's ugly, messy, and just short of bloody. So for all those real-life romance lovers... I raise this glass of Coke.

When we were kids, we made all kinds of promises. We promised to always be best friends, to always put each other first, and that no matter what, no one would come between us. Little did we know that life had its own plans.
We grew up and reality set in. We realized that not all love lasts forever, and some promises are meant to be broken. It’s ironic that the promises we made as kids, the ones we thought would hold us together, might just be the very thing that could tear us apart.

5 of 5 stars

I'm a huge fan of this author's work but oh my goodness what you have done to me this time, I have no words for how much I loved this story.

Even if m/m/f isn't your normal pick I implore you to try this book. Delilah, Cole and Xander are written with so much love and understanding I couldn't help but fall for them all. Usually, I have a character who calls to me more but not this time. I loved Delilah's strength and determination, I loved Cole's huge heart and I loved Xander's selflessness.

You will need tissues I know I did, emotionally I was shredded by this wonderful beautifully written book.

So the pervy girl in my fawned all over the description of this book before I read it. Post-reading I'm crying happy tears, not to be confused with the other tears I cried reading this book. I know I'm sensitive to the subject matter so I knew tears were inevitable but wow!!!

Unbroken Promises has just about everything you could possibly want in a story without knowing you needed it.

Friends to lovers is putting Unbroken Promises mildly. How about soulmates!?! These three are soul mates. They are each other's other half. Don't get me wrong not all soulmates are in a relationship... some are friends. These three will break your heart, twist your hopes, and have you fearing the worst. Just remember that love is a powerful thing, it saves us in ways we never expected. All starting with Unbroken Promises...

I want to gush about certain aspects of this book so badly but I refuse to ruin it for others with my need to fangirl. But when you finish, if you need someone to gush with...hit me up!

This book deserves a lot more than 5 stars!! If you buy one books for the rest of the year, let this be it!” -- Melissa Schaub
“I was unprepared for the magnitude of this experience. Hands down this is the BEST book Nikki Ash has EVER written. MMF reads seem to be all the rage right now but this one is MORE than that and so beautifully unique. It is SO different, it needs its own category.” -- Cali Gals Book Blog
“Wow, just wow! Talk about an emotional roller coaster; I haven't both laughed and cried over a book in a long time! Do Not Pass Over this book! Even if MMF isn't your thing, this book has the potential to be a life changer!" -- Kori Dickens

Delilah is a naturally gorgeous woman. She has beautiful hazel eyes that shine with every emotion. Her body is beyond sexy with a soft yet flat stomach and a round, perfect ass. And her plump, kissable lips leave you wanting to press your mouth to hers over and over again. She’s never paid attention at school, but so many guys over the years have wanted to get between her legs. Cole and I have threatened the shit out of several of those fuckers who’d talk about wanting to take her out, knowing they just wanted to get in her pants.
“You’re just saying that because you’re my best friend.” She rolls her eyes and her fleshy lips turn into a pout. Without thinking, I lean in and press my lips to hers. “You’re beautiful,” I say again. “I’ve thought about us all being together again more times than I can count, but do you understand if we do this, it will change everything?”
“Maybe that’s okay,” she says and turns her head to look at Cole. “None of us are dating anyone, so we aren’t hurting anyone.” She shrugs. “Sex is supposed to be with someone you love, and I love you two, and no matter where life takes us, I know I will always love you both.”
I glance over at Cole and see he’s frozen in thought, so I say what I’m thinking. “I love you too, sweet girl, and if this is what you want, I’m down, as long as we make one promise.”
“What’s that?” Cole asks, finally speaking.
“All of us or none of us.”

The struggle between good and evil.

Isabella

Life's constantly throwing me curveballs. It's what I do with them that determines my destiny. Everyone has dreams of the perfect life. Depending on what your vision of happiness is, you try your hardest to achieve it.

I thought I had found that special someone, until the bottom fell out and I woke from my dream; realizing I'd actually been living a nightmare all along. Nothing seems real anymore as I walk through the haze of what has become my life.

When I sank to the bottom where the darkness eclipsed the light, I began to struggle against the quicksand of sorrow, hoping I could make it back to the top.

Dominic

In the blink of an eye, my life turned out for the worse. I was drowning in the chaos of what had become my life. What do you do when you've lost everything you once held close to your heart?

After turning to alcohol, sex, and cheap women to soothe the ache, I decided I needed to find the man I once was before there was no coming back. My soul bled for the other half of my heart.

She entered my life like a tiny hurricane in need of direction. Could this be what I've been searching for? Could she be my salvation?

The first time I saw the cover I was like WOW the models eyes just draw you in then I read the blurb and I new I wanted to get the book.

The two main characters intrigued me for totally different reasons. We get a close up look at Isabella's life which at times makes for difficult reading. Dominic however is a mystery when I couldn't wait to unravel.

The author effortlessly takes the reader through the darkness that is Belle's life. The writing made me feel like I was there experiencing it with her. Belle is a survivor she just rolls with the punches I didn't want her to break but how i wished for someone to protect her. Dominic comes into her life at just the right time, he's a sexy moody bossy alpha and is prefect for her.

I really enjoyed this story it kept me engaged from start to finish. This will be an author I will follow with interest.

Excerpt:

“I want a new tattoo of a Lotus flower. I’ve been reading up on the meaning, and after all that's happened, I think it’s perfect. They grow in the mud, blossoming into new beginnings. My past represents the mud that I was slowly sinking in, and my present with you is my new beginning.”

“I think it’s a beautiful idea, Sparrow. I have an idea, too. You wanna make a stop before heading back to my place? I have a friend who I trust with my work, and he will do your vision justice. Trust me?” He looks at me with adoration in his eyes.

“I'd follow you to the ends of the earth, Dominic. I trust you with my life, so lead the way, sexy.”

Driving up to a tiny shop on the corner of a rundown shopping center, I feel like we've entered some abandoned ghetto in a gruesome horror flick. The neon sign on the front of the building simply reads Tattoo, and is missing an O. Perfectly creepy.

“Remember when I said I trusted you? I may be eating those words now.” Giving him a side glance, I can see the smirk on his face.

“The fancy new mall a few miles out of town has run off a lot of customers, but the loyal ones have stuck it out. Believe me, I wouldn't take you somewhere I didn’t think was safe. I have precious cargo with me now.”

Jesus, how can I not trust him?

“Ok, but if I see any zombies dragging their feet my way, you best believe that I will throw you to the beasts. I love you, but survival comes first.” Dominic laughs while clutching his heart.

“You wound me, Sparrow. Come on, let's go.”

BLURB

Willow Taylor lives in a castle with large walls and iron fences. But this is no ordinary castle. It’s called Heartstone Psychiatric hospital and it houses forty other patients. It has nurses with mean faces and techs with permanent frowns.

It has a man, as well. A man who is cold and distant. Whose voice drips with authority. And whose piercing gray eyes hide secrets, and maybe linger on her face a second too long.

Willow isn’t supposed to look deep into those eyes. She isn’t supposed to try to read his tightly leashed emotions. And neither is she supposed to touch herself at night, imagining his powerful voice and that cold but beautiful face.

No, Willow Taylor shouldn’t be attracted to Simon Blackwood, at all.

Because she’s a patient and he’s her doctor. Her psychiatrist.

The medicine man.

WARNING: This book discusses sensitive issues including but not limited to, depression and suicide.

From the synopsis, I wasn't sure what to expect from the story I knew it had a forbidden element but oh my goodness I never imagined the emotional rollercoaster I would go on.

The author has written a very unique story Simon and Willow are truly fascinating and make for addictive reading it was so easy to fall under their spell. This is a very complex storyline due to the setting of the book and because of Willow herself. A slow burn definitely but you can feel so much with the little glances the connection and passion is palpable.

This is a must read book for me, I loved how the story slowly unfolded. With secondary characters who have pivotal roles, I can't wait to read more about them. It's a hard book to review without giving things away however I would recommend this book it's worth of so much more than 5 stars.

EXCERPT

“Do you have someone special, Dr. Blackwood?”

Someone you kiss? Someone you grab and pull into a dark alley and press against

walls?

I don’t say that but I’m definitely asking that.

It’s like he hears the unspoken questions because the heat of his body seems to have

doubled. Like his blood is rushing in his veins with an uncanny speed.

With flaring nostrils and a hard jaw, he answers, “No.”

“Why not?”

“Because I’m busy.”

I want to smile. Actually, I’ve never wanted to smile this hard. Ever. His answer calms

me but it also makes me restless to move closer to him. I want to trace my palm over the arch

of his chest and see if I got it right in my dreams.

But I don’t do any of those things. I don’t want him to take away this small concession

he’s given me.

Why is he even giving it to me? I’m not complaining. But still.

“Busy with patients?”

“Busy with my job. Yes,” he says, all professional-like.

That’s what he is. Professional and distant. Dedicated to his job and fixing people. If

Mass General let him go, then they are idiots.

I’m an idiot, too, in this moment.

Instead of backing off, I want to do something. Something that might crack his cool

façade. Maybe reaching up and messing up his no-nonsense hair.

What would he do? If I did that? If I grabbed his collar and pushed him against the wall?

And kissed him?

My eyes drop to his lips, his soft, soft lips. There’s a cleft in the middle of his lower lip. I

want to taste that cleft, dig my tongue in it, wet it, suck on it, bite it.

“So you don’t have fun at all?”

“No. I’m not a fun guy.”

I watch his lips form the words, and every syllable that comes out of his mouth makes

my need to shake him, kiss him, mess him up, stronger. Stronger and stronger.

The need is so consuming that I hardly notice when he puts his hand on my palm and

takes it off his body. It’s final and smooth, his action. Effortless. As though my touch barely

registered to him.

“But I think you have a point. It’s after hours and I should go… have fun rather than

spending my time with a patient.” He steps back then. “I’ll see you next week. Same time.”
