EXCERPT
Damn, the girl was fast. But Nic was just as quick, because I found myself lifted off my feet, carried into the house, and placed onto the couch in the living room, in what felt like the blink of an eye.
He sat down next to me, leaning over, his face close to mine. "We need to talk." I pushed against his chest, trying to get out from under him, my mind a jumbled mess after everything I'd just heard. What I'd just learned about him. My Nic was a mobster. It was almost impossible to believe. He was into bad stuff, illegal stuff. Things about which I had zero clue because he'd kept me in the dark.
"We'll talk," he promised, his hand sliding under my robe and up my inner thigh. "After."
"After?" I stuttered, my breath hitching when he sank two fingers inside me.
"After you come on my hand, in my mouth, and on my cock."
I pushed against his chest again, even as my legs widened slightly, giving him better access to my body. "I'm angry with you, Nic. And hurt. And a little scared."
He stilled over me, staring down at me with pain filled eyes. "I will never hurt you, mia dolce. Never."
It was a heartfelt vow, and I believed him. It might make me the most naïve person on the planet, but I knew deep in my bones that Nic didn't mean me any harm.
"I know," I whispered softly, one hand sliding up his chest to cup his cheek. "But I'm still unbelievably angry with you."
"Then take your anger out on my body, Gianna, and let me show you exactly how sorry I am."
"But-" I tried to protest. Despite everything, my body responded to his dark tone. A quick twist of his wrist had his fingers rubbing against my G-spot and any coherent thought fled my brain.
With expert strokes, he drove me higher and higher until I was fulfilling the first part of his promise, coming on his hand. Then he dropped to his knees, lifting my legs over his shoulders, and his mouth latched on to me. He ate at me like he was starving—licking and sucking while he held my hips down so I couldn't move. It wasn't until I'd come twice more that he lifted his head. I saw my wetness glistening on his beard before he wiped it against my belly, bared as the robe had parted wide down the middle. Then he unbuckled his belt, unzipped his pants, and pulled his cock out. It was hard and bobbed thickly against his stomach.
Without any preamble, he lifted my hips into the air, lining us up and driving inside of me. Sensitive from my orgasms, I felt every inch of him as he slid against my drenched heat. He was so big, my body had to stretch to take him all. Somehow, I was both uncomfortable and excited at the same time. Then he pulled out, only to thrust back in and my mind blanked as he pounded into me. Deep and hard. I'd thought he'd been rough with me the night before, but it was nothing compared to the way he was taking me now. Like he owned me, and my body loved it. I was caged between his muscular body and the couch, writhing in ecstasy, and even with what I knew about him, it felt like exactly where I belonged. When his mouth dropped down to mine, claiming it in a searing kiss, I was thrown over the edge once again, taking him with me.

Chest heaving, on a panting breath, Nic growled, "Now we can talk. And you'll listen to me, with my come filling your pussy."

Je suis à toi
Pepper Winters
(Monsters in the Dark #3.5)
Publication date: May 29th 2016
Genres: Contemporary, New Adult, Romance

“Life taught me an eternal love will demand the worst sacrifices. A transcendent love will split your soul, cleaving you into pieces. A love this strong doesn’t grant you sweetness—it grants you pain. And in that pain is the greatest pleasure of all.”
Q made me the happiest esclave in the world. He gave me his heart, his empire, his ruthless unforgiving love. And life finally left us in peace.
A man like my maître has special needs though, growing stronger as our lives intertwine. The only way to survive his monster is to agree to all his desires.
Including his latest wish.
I’m his.
And I won’t refuse.

EXCERPT:
Tess and I remained quiet, letting the others do the entertaining.
The staff cleared the table, appearing and disappearing effortlessly. It felt as if we were alone and in a private sanctuary rather than a cavernous castle.
Finishing his wine, Frederick stood up, helping Angelique to her feet with a doting smile. They made a handsome couple with their svelte frames and similar features. I didn’t have many close friends, but those I did, I cherished.
“Let’s play a few parlour games. What do you say?” Frederick clapped his hands, encouraging us to stand.
Tess rolled her eyes as Franco plucked Suzette from her chair.
“I don’t think monopoly or scrabble are what most of us have in mind tonight.” Tess murmured too low for anyone but me to hear as she came toward my side.
Wrapping an arm around her waist, it came off as kind and loving, but the fierce way I glued her to my side spoke of domination and desire. “Shall we retire and find our own entertainment?” I whispered in her ear.
She smiled coyly. “I think that’s a—”
“Come on. No excuses. A few games together and then we’ll head to bed.” Frederick in his bossiness didn’t let us say no.
With a mixture of grumbles and half-hearted hesitation, he ferried us into the room attached to the great hall and motioned us to sit in the mismatch velour love-seats and wingbacks grouped together around a low coffee table. Nestled by the chairs were a whiteboard, markers, and other paraphernalia.
“What the hell are you planning, mon ami?” I asked, reluctantly letting Tess pull me onto a love-seat with her.
Angelique answered for him, tugging her long dark hair over her shoulder. “Well, we’re in a castle. We thought it would be fun to play some of the parlour games that would’ve been their entertainment back in the day.”
I groaned dramatically. “I’d much rather drink.” I pinched Tess beside me, hissing in her ear. “And then play with you.”

Review: The Right Design by Isabella Louise Anderson

The Right Design The Right Design by Isabella Louise Anderson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Right Design is a heartwarming story of a young woman, Carrie, picking herself up and moving on after a heartbreaking end to a six-year relationship. She bravely moves out of state to get a fresh start. She is a successful interior designer and lands a pretty awesome job at the recommendation of her previous employer. She ends up meeting a super nice and handsome guy, Oliver, that works for a moving company as well as bartending on the side. He is down to earth and easy to be around. However, she also meets another man, Brad Larson, at the same bar who is intensely gorgeous and yet rudely forward and cocky... not a great first impression. She makes it a point to avoid him. Imagine her surprise when he becomes her first client! He is definitely interested in her, but she doesn't trust him. On the other hand, Oliver is super sweet to her and comfortable to be around. You will have to read on to see whom she chooses and how it plays out! This was a sweet read...definitely a more low-key romance (no darkness or kink). I enjoyed reading this book but I craved a deeper twist to it, though that is what I am used to reading normally so that's not anything that I take into account for my rating.
Only a couple things worth mentioning constructively: I thought the beginning was a little over-detailed in the goings on of daily life and had me skimming a little in those moments (i.e., noting the time when she answered the phone, how she felt about the smell of paint in her new home). I also would have enjoyed the intimate scenes more had the story been in first person and with a lot more detail...what can I say, I want to know what happens! lol I prefer first person in general, but when well written I don't mind third person. This book was well written so it was an easy read!

Review: Going for Gold by Ivy Smoak

Going for Gold by Ivy Smoak
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Going for Gold was one of my first romantic comedy reads as well as my first sports romance. It is a super hot read with plenty of action! There is a major scene in the book toward the end that is pretty "out there" so you have to allow yourself to not take it too seriously, as it is not typical for "real life." I had a bit of a hard time with that, but I just went with it reminding myself that even in romantic comedy movies, outlandish shit happens and that's ok :) I also loved that a certain professor was mentioned briefly! That was unexpected and made me smile!
There were plenty of emotions. Ivy never disappoints in bringing the feels! There were moments of humiliation, desolation, excitement, laughter and happiness. The sex was incredibly hot and totally outrageous in the best way! I would definitely recommend this book to the rom/com lovers out there!

Excerpt
While he slept, he didn’t look as defiant, as dangerous as he did when he was awake and able to use words to his advantage. She had seen him asleep before, if only briefly, and during that time, he had looked like the weight of the world was finally off his shoulders, and he could breathe again.
Now? Well, now he looked like that weight was back on and it was crushing him.
Without thinking, Reagan reached for him, smoothing her fingers over his shoulders, hoping to ease the tension that seemed to be bundled there, but her touch had just skipped over the scarred tattoo when he suddenly bolted up, grabbing hold of her wrists as he went.
In seconds she was underneath him in the bed, her hands gripped so tightly that even if she wanted to get free, she couldn’t.
“Niklaus,” she whispered, careful to keep her voice down with the frenzy she could see in his gaze. “It’s me.”
He didn’t let up, not immediately. Niklaus just looked down at her as if he didn’t recognize her, as though whatever he was seeing was meshing with the nightmare that had kept him under.
Blinking slowly, the fog seemed to clear, and he gradually released his hold on her, but didn’t move off her. Not yet.
“Sorry, I—”
“It’s fine. You didn’t really hurt me.” But she didn’t try and touch his scar again.
Gradually, he sat up, rubbing at his eyes as he sighed heavily. All too quickly he went from one extreme to a look of sadness that made her ache for him.
What did he dream about that put that expression on his face?
They didn’t ask a lot of personal questions when they were together, though she had learned a few more things about him this time around as opposed to the last.
But this…this she hoped he would share, if only so she could ease that storm she saw behind his eyes.
“Do you want to talk about it?”
He didn’t respond for at least a minute, but he turned back towards her, the emotions she had seen replaced with darker ones. At least she was more familiar with the way he was looking at her now.

“Help me forget,” he said as he pushed off the headboard, pulling her into him.

* New Release * SWAY by Adriana Locke - USA Today Bestseller!! @AuthorALocke

Sway
by Adriana Locke
USA Today Bestselling Author
 Book Blitz
Contemporary Romance

Sway features a politician and a single mother of an adorable ten-year-old son. They have the odds stacked against them and have to decide if a life together is worth the sacrifices and adjustments that would have to be made to make that happen. And, I promise, you’ll never look at grapes again.

BARRETT LANDRY  has it all.
Power, prestige, and plenty of women, the dapper politician’s life is pretty phenomenal. But in the midst of the biggest campaign of his life, he needs to focus. The last thing he can afford is a distraction.

ALISON BAKER is a work-in-progress.
As a single mother to HUXLEY, she’s rebuilding life on her terms. She’s focused on family, faith, and a future for her son that can’t be taken away. Putting her child first means not being careless, no matter what.

A chance encounter forces Barrett and Alison to redefine what they really want out of life. But everything comes at a cost ... and sometimes, even for love, it’s a price too steep to pay.

“I want a chance to win you over,” he breathes, peering at me. The way his eyes search mine make it seem like time stands still. “Will you let me try?”
He forces a swallow and the look of hesitation, the internal fight he’s having, isn’t lost on me. It’s there, right beneath the surface, and when I add my concerns to the mix, it’s enough to make me balk. Just a bit.
"I'll think about it," I whisper, holding on to the little strand of courage I have left.
“Say yes.”
Instead of responding, I ask, "Where'd you get that scar over your right eye?" I reach out and press gently on the raised skin. I expect him to pull back, but he doesn't.
My hand shakes as I touch his warmed skin. His forehead is silky and smooth. I'd like to run my hands over every inch of it, feel it ripple beneath my fingertips.
The corner of his lips twitch. "Lincoln hit me in the head with a baseball."
"Bad reflexes on your part?"
"Wicked curveball on his," he says, his face breaking out into a full smile.
“I thought he played center field?”
“He does. But he pitched some growing up.”
We stand inches apart, my hand gently brushing down the side of his face. Although I feel like he'd stand here all night and talk to me, it’s not possible.
"I really need to get back to work," I say, trying to unlock my eyes from his.
“Dinner? This week?”
I can barely resist the look in his eye, the one that implores me to say yes. The one that makes me believe he really does want to have dinner and spend a few hours with me.
I need to get away, put some space between us while I can.
“We ran into each other tonight,” I shrug. “If we’re supposed to see each other again, then I guess we will.” I start to turn away before I completely buckle under his gaze.
“How am I supposed to get ahold of you? I don’t have your number,” he calls after me.
Heading up the steps to the Savannah Room, I glance at him over my shoulder. “You’re the Mayor. Figure it out.”
