They say the king is the most powerful piece on the board.
However, they haven’t met me.
This queen knows all the rules.
She plays the game better than him.
In my game, the queen can knock the king right off the board.
 Game over. The END
But, I love him.
The darkness threatens to make me lose sight of my strategy from time to time, but in the END, love always prevails.
Problem is, my black king is playing by a different set of rules.
His END game is one he shields from me.
It’s a game he plays closely with the white king, the most brilliant player of all.
Together, they want to END my game.
They want to END me.
This queen doesn’t go down without a fight.
This queen makes her own rules.
This queen will outsmart those who play against her.
This is the END, baby.
In the END, I am going to win it all.
Warning
This is the End, Baby is a dark romance.
Extreme sexual themes and violence, which could trigger emotional distress, are found in this story. If you are sensitive to dark themes, then this story is not for you.
This is the seventh and final book in the series.
First six books must be read in order to fully understand this story line.
THIS STORY IS A NOVELLA AND SHORTER THAN THE REST.

The End Definitely Happened, Baby!!
I will start by saying that I was not ready for this book to happen. This is War, Baby was my first book by K Webster, and I read it three months ago. So, it's been a massive whirlwind of unforgettable epically intense B@D@$$NE$$ in a very short period of time.
Since then, I've realized that everything she writes is addictive and all consuming. I cannot get enough of her epic tales, and they are all TRULY EPIC stories. Her stories will stick with you, long after you read them. Hence, why I no longer eat cucumbers....
This book was no exception. Although it was just a short epilogue novella, it was just as intense and fantastic as the other full length parts to the series. I Have been very clear about my dislike for Hannah, from her very first appearance in the series, but her part was important to the overall storyline, and I will acknowledge that. I had tons of ideas on how I wanted this book to end. And although I will not be expressing any of those, so I don't spoil anything for future readers, I will say the ending was absolutely perfect. The ending we get was far greater than any ending I had considered. It was truly poetic.
I am sad to see such a great series come to an end, but feel it ended right where it needed to. You are not deprived of closure, and will leave this series feeling content. Well, as content as a dark romance can leave you.
I loved this book, and I highly suggest it. It is a dark romance, however, so if you have a sensitivity to triggers, I would suggest sitting this series out. I would also suggest not reading this book unless you have read all the other War&Peace books that came before it. These are not meant to be read as stand-alones.
As I said before:
I am really sad to see this series come to an end, but it was a truly poetic end indeed...baby.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This is the end, Baby! It's been a long dark journey. It's been filled with joy, love, and mayhem. Murder and lust abound. The pages of this series form a bond with so many characters. You win some, you lose some. You love some, you hate some. You love and hate some. But when it comes down to it...well, there's only one way to go.
I'm just glad I finally got my ending. I binge read the books this past week and was dying for the final answer...Is this it, Baby?
Yes, unfortunately it is the end. But what a way to go...
I loved the end. I love the beginning and middle too.(smirk) I know you will too. But the most important thing you need to know, there were no tacos harmed in this installment. No tacos were forced to endure ranch dressing, therefore it is safe for filthy, dirty minded people to read. The "horrors" are limited to the normal stuff from this series. (The afore mentioned murder and mayhem)
P.S. I am upset that Calder did not get his own book. Just saying!

P.P.S. I will miss this motley crew. I will miss the hot and wildly intense....emotions! What you thought I meant the sex...Nope that's the next P.S.
P.P.P.S. Filthy f@ckery happens here! One click now!

Sadly, all good things must come to an end. This Is The End, Baby by Author K. Webster is the epilogue to her War and Peace dark romance series. I would say that it is short and sweet, but K. Web doesn't do sweet. I also suppose that it is only fitting that this series comes full circle. It started with Gabe and ends with Gabe. Although we don't see all the characters in the finale, it seems as if everyone has found their happy.

The first book in this series was the first ever K. Webster book I read. It was thanks to a great book friend who kept urging me to check her out. Thank goodness I finally listened because I fell in love with the dark side about a year ago and I haven't looked back since. I love her writing style, especially her dual perspectives. I like knowing what goes on in everyone's head, not just the main character. Although this series has ended, I cannot wait to see what this Queen of Dark Romance has in store for us next.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

From the start this series has been an epic dark adventure. The series started with Gabe in This is War Baby so it's only fitting that we end with him. The author has given a perfect ending to a series I have devoured and that will never leave me. If I could I would give every book more than 5 stars thank you for bringing this crazy family into my life.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This is PERFECT, baby!!! There's nothing to say other than K Webster knows how to start a series and end a series. Seriously this is a short and sweet review. Read this series if you haven't!!! I fell in love with K Webster because of This is war, baby. If you like dark romance, twists and turns, getting your heart ripped out but put back together, if you want to find a whole new series to fall in love with than the peace and war series is definitely for you. And lucky you, you can binge read the series after this one releases. Oh also don't be weary about this being a novella. True to the K Web nature you will get everything you think you need and more!!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

#Series #NoStandalones #DarkRomance #FiveStarSeries

My love affair with K Webster began with this series and it's so bittersweet, roughly a year and two months later, to see this series come to an end. Her characters are unforgettable and she made me fall in love with each one of them (with the exception of a couple evil monsters) whether I wanted to or not. K Webster's way of building and twisting a storyline is comparable to none other, and I cannot wait to see what she has in store for us next!
This was an amazing end to an amazing storyline. As one of my reviewers said, "this series started with Gabe in This is War, Baby, and it's only fitting that we end with him." I couldn't agree more. Gabe is one of the most interesting characters in this series and there are so many layers to him. It has been cool to see so much from his POV in this book.

All good things must come to an end, and the end to this series was as it should be - amazing, emotional, and complete.

It began as a ruse. Take a girlfriend. Divert the press from the fucked up mess that’s my family until my father is re-elected. Stage a public breakup. Move on. Only that brilliant plan went straight south the moment I set eyes on Willow Blackwell. I found her. My center. My future. A soulmate with the will of a mule and the mouth of a harpy. I now want things I never wanted before. Permanent kinds of things. Only Fate—and her ex—have other plans for us. In some sort of cosmic impossibility, our lives unknowingly intersected years before when tragedy befell both our families. Once the devastating truth is finally revealed, the future I’d found in her will come crashing down around us and for the first time in my life I’m completely helpless. I may very well lose the only woman I've ever loved to a past neither of us saw coming. *warning: 18+ only. Contains foul language, explicit sex and a hot alpha (or two, or three). NOTE: This is NOT a standalone. It’s the conclusion to LOST IN BETWEEN, which MUST be read first.

It was a deal. A contract. No muss, no fuss, no feelings and $250,000. It should have been easy. It was all a facade. Until what was Lost In Between became Found Underneath...
"She’s color, she’s sun, she’s rain, she’s earth, she’s breath, she’s warmth , she’s salt, she’s sweet. She’s life. She’s..."
But what will become of this "thing" when the past comes to light? How will two closed off individuals share enough to become one...or is their fate more like the crumbling house of cards?
I honestly put off reading this arc until the last minute possible. I was afraid of answers and afraid of the questions. I fell so deeply in love with Shaw and Willow that I didn't want to entertain the idea of anything else. So as much as I needed to know, I fought it.
I can safely say that I could have read it sooner but I still would have cried. I still would have shaken my fist. And I won't promise that I won't show up at KL Krieg's house to demand more. Yay be satisfied and content but I will always want more...
Perhaps Noah's story...Bluebell'sOr a certain snippy hard @ss best friend...
If like me you were afraid, know this...Sometimes it's better to get all the facts than to wildly guess the answers. Just ask Willow. You have nothing to fear except fear itself....Okay, that's bull but this story's conclusion is nothing to fear. It honestly could not have gone another way. (Seriously,KL Kreig is never wrong...)
To recap, I loved it. I hurt. I cried. I denied. But in the end, I need to.....
Wait I can't tell you that! Then you'll get the wrong impression. Read it. Get the facts. Figure out what team you are on and how far you will fight for it!
⭐⭐⭐⭐✮

I was really looking forward to this book after finishing book 1 I was excited to see what would happen when the pretence is over. I really enjoyed the dynamics between Willow and Shaw, the banter combined with the sexual tension was a winning combination. I still enjoyed the story but found this one harder to get into in part because the first half was for me a little lacking but it was what I would class as a slow burner and when the action picked up I was hooked. There is still a lot to be resolved with their story and the are plenty of twists and turns to keep you invested. Shaw really came good for me in this one, ironically he was the one not willing to give up, the one who was secure in his feelings for Willow and she was not which made me want to smack her a few times. This was a good second book that was fast paced and full of emotion.
⭐⭐⭐⭐✮

Short Excerpt

With reverence, he peels the fluffy garment from my body and lets it fall to the floor, leaving me bare and exposed, craving his next touch, his next word. “In them, I saw absolutely nothing.” My nipples bead when he runs my lobe through his teeth and breathes, “But in you, Willow, I see a blank page I want to fill with color and memories, light and laughter. I want to pack page after page with the story of our life, and I’ve never wanted that before.” My eyes well up and goose bumps blanket me. Shaw Mercer weakens every part of me but strengthens me in equal measure.

As a USA Today Bestselling author, I write stories that are deeply emotional with flawed characters, because humans ARE flawed and if we read about perfect characters living in their perfect world, first of all, snoozer, but secondly, we never experience the gratification of redemption. Outside of writing, I’m just a regular ol’ Midwest girl who likes Game of Thrones and am obsessed with Modern Family and The Goldbergs. I run, I eat, I run, I eat. It’s a vicous cycle. I love carbs, but there’s love-hate relationship with my ass and thighs. Mostly hate. I like a good cocktail (oh hell…who am I kidding? I love any cocktail). I’m a huge creature of habit, but I’ll tell you I’m flexible. I read every single day and if I don’t get a chance…watch the hell out. My iPad and me: BFFs. I’m direct and I make no apologies for it. I swear too much. I love alternative music and in my next life I want to be a bad-ass female rocker. I hate, hate, hate spiders, telemarketers, liver, acne, winter and loose hairs that fall down my shirt (don’t ask, it’s a thing).

[Cover Reveal] BAD PENNY by Staci Hart @imaquirkybird @InkSlingerPR

Today we have the gorgeous cover reveal for Bad Penny by Staci Hart!

Bad Penny
Staci Hart

Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Day: June 15th

Synopsis

Nothing good comes after the third date. Date three is the crucial point when things get real, which is exactly why I bounce out the door, twiddling my fingers at whatever poor boy I’ve left behind. Because if I stick around, one of three things will happen: he’ll profess his undying love, he’ll get weird and stalky, or I’ll go crazy. Like, Sid and Nancy crazy. Like, chase-him-through-the-streets-begging-him-to-love-me crazy. Seriously, it’s better for everyone this way. So when I meet Bodie, I figure it’ll be the same as it ever was. It doesn’t matter that he doesn’t put a single string on me. Doesn’t matter that he’s funny and smart and jacked or that he can play my body like a grand piano. Because even though I’m built for love, love has only carved me up like a Christmas ham. Resistance is something I can only hang on to for so long, and he has persistence in spades. But my heart isn’t as safe as I want to believe, and neither is his. And the second I ignore my cardinal rule is the second I stand to lose him forever.

About Staci Hart:

Staci has been a lot of things up to this point in her life: a graphic designer, an entrepreneur, a seamstress, a clothing and handbag designer, a waitress. Can't forget that. She's also been a mom, with three little girls who are sure to grow up to break a number of hearts. She's been a wife, even though she's certainly not the cleanest, or the best cook. She's also super, duper fun at a party, especially if she's been drinking whiskey. Her favorite word starts with f and ends with k.   From roots in Houston, to a seven year stint in Southern California, Staci and her family ended up settling somewhere in between and equally north, in Denver. They are new enough that snow is still magical. When she's not writing, she's sleeping, cleaning, or designing graphics.

I didn’t notice her before…but now I do. The shiny strands of gold in her silky brown hair. Tiny crinkles between her eyebrows when she frowns. Her passion for neatness. Once I focus on her, I can’t take my eyes from my newest obsession. Ever. I need to know everything about her. Her past. Her present. The way she takes her coffee. Exactly how she smells after a spritz of perfume in the mornings. She’s perfect in every way and I was blind. But, God, now do, I see. I notice the organized way she arranges her clothes in her closet. How she visits the same market each Saturday. The sounds of her breathing as I lie beneath her bed in silence. Violet is mine. She just doesn’t know it yet.

What an amazing story! I was left ragged and anxious at the end of book one, waiting to see just where this story was headed. The plot was full of twists and turns that I could not have predicted. The action and catty drama continued to surprise me and shock me as the plot thickened and the lies and secrets began to pile up. While Evan had secrets of his own, Becca's secrets and black hole of lies threatened to eat her alive. Both of them felt trapped in their different situations. The pain they both went through in pining for each other was palpable. The stress and turmoil of everything going on around them both in their lives was a physical weight I could feel bearing down on me. I really felt for them. The action toward the end was heart-stopping. I could not put this book down once I started it! I love this couple together. Evan is an amazing guy that loves with his whole heart. The way he takes on responsibility and supports his family in more ways than he should have to is inspiring.
I highly recommend this duet (Liar, Liar and Truth or Dare) to any of my readers across all genres. I think this set is a great mix of everything and would be enjoyed by all romance loving readers ðŸ’œ

 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

After the ending of book I've been desperate for this book I had so many questions that I wanted answered. There were so many twist and turns and the action doesn't let up but we get more of the story in Evan's PoV which I was so happy about because he is such an amazing young man. Becca is hurt and feeling betrayed by Evan and Scarlett and now she feels like she is totally alone again but you can tell there is more to their actions than we as the reader know. We see more of Evan's struggles his home life puts such pressure on him but the way he deals with it just made me fall in love with him more. The way he treats Becca and his little brother Eli who is the most adorable little boy that you just want to squish is truly beautiful because when he loves he loves hard. I wanted Becca to forgive them quicker but once we learned about her last I understood where she was coming from, I also liked how Evan didn't give up on her. There are twist and turns and a reveal that I didn't guess, it keeps you guessing the whole way through. The story flows naturally between all the characters and I really hope that some of the secondary characters get there own stories. This was a well written story that tied up all those loose ends.

 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The cliffhanger ending from the first book left my mind spinning, and I was immediately anxious for this book to come out. I needed the answers to so many questions, and I wanted a HEA! This book delivers all of that and so much more! It has absolutely everything you need to complete an already amazing story. Becca and Evan...omg, you guys...I cannot even put into words, how these characters made me feel. The emotions are strong, and you can really feel right along with the characters. I read this book cover to cover without stopping and I was constantly guessing and being surprised. The story ended exactly the way it should, and I was satisfied with the events described throughout. The characters were intense, but relatable. The story was suspenseful, and not at all predictable. I loved this story. Everyone should read this book! It has a little bit of everything. An excellent read for any type of reader. I would give it more stars if that were an option.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

EXCERPT

I pushed my way farther into the thick of it, earning me a couple of hard glares from guys twice my size. Becca spun again, facing the stage, and I moved behind her, leaving only a sliver of space between us. It was perfect timing because the song ended and the band went straight into something with less base. The sea of faceless people swayed and bobbed their heads in time with the mellow beat. Becca followed them, her shoulders swinging from side to side. Her black sweater hung off one shoulder, revealing a khaki tank top underneath and milky skin just begging to be touched. Without thinking, I slid my arms around her waist and gathered her against me. Her body recoiled, and I felt Becca’s fight instinct kick in, but I held firm, dipping my mouth to her ear. “It’s me,” I whispered.
She relaxed into me and continued moving to the music. I didn’t care that I looked all kinds of awkward because it was the closest Becca had let me get since the night we’d been together. My fingers dug into her hips at the memory, anchoring her to me, but she didn’t move. She didn’t fight me off or give me hell; she just continued to soak up the atmosphere. I didn’t want to push her or be a jerk, but I was a guy, and she was here, pressed up against me, looking all kinds of hot.
Did she feel it too?
The pulse of electricity between us, the spark?
Becca hadn’t been wrong when she’d accused me of using her to forget about all the shit going on in my life, but it was more than that with us. We both knew it, and deep down, I think that was why she was so reluctant to give me a second chance.
We had a shot at something real.
Something messy and ugly and raw—and that terrified her. Hell, it terrified me. Becca hadn’t grown up in a place like Credence, but she’d ended up here for a reason. If she’d just let me in If she’d trust me with whatever it was she was hiding, I could help. I could be there for her. Maybe that made me a selfish bastard, dragging her into my fucked-up life, but she made breathing easier. She made everything a little bit easier, and I hadn’t expected—or even wanted—it to happen, but I needed her.
I needed her more than she would ever know, so if there was even a tiny chance she would let me back in, I would take it. Starting with right now.

Rosie
They say that life is a beautiful lie and death a painful truth. They're right.
No one has ever made me feel more alive than the guy who serves as a constant reminder that my clock is ticking.
He is my forbidden, shiny apple.
The striking fallacy to my blunt, raw, truth.
He is also my sister's ex-boyfriend.
One thing you should know before you judge me;
I saw him first. I craved him first. I loved him first.
Eleven years later, he waltzed into my life, demanding a second chance.
Dean Cole wants to be my bronze horseman. My white knight has finally arrived. Hopefully, he isn’t too late.
Dean
They say the brightest stars burn out the fastest. They’re right.
She sets my mind on fire.
All smart mouth, snarky attitude and a huge heart.
In a world where everything is dull, she shines like fucking Sirius.
Eleven years ago, fate tore us apart.
This time, I fucking dare it to try.
Getting to her is a battlefield, but man, that’s why they call me Ruckus.
Rosie LeBlanc is about to find out how hard I can fight.
And conquering her will be the sweetest victory.

When you think of the Hotholes, you either cringe in fear or shiver in lust. It's one or the other.

Dean is the stoner play boy. Hiding behind the misconceptions of others, he is the underestimated one of the bunch. But he is also the one who confronts Vicious the most. If you wondered before about the half baked hottie, you will soon learn nothing is as it seems.
History, the past, yesterday- whatever you feel like labeling it- is about to roll over. Dean is not waiting anymore. The past is behind him. Previous relationships don't matter. No what matters now is Baby LeBlanc. He just needs to prove it.
I loves these Hotholes in the worst way. They are rude, mean, and downright filthy but I would never turn my back on them. Loyalty, love, and friendship are the world to them. Unless of course you become a star to a certain one...
I have good and bad feelings about where this is going next. But either way, I will absolutely be waiting for it!

Have you ever started to read a series and it ticks every box everything you love in a story well for me these books are it.
Going in I was unsure how I would take to Dean, would I like him could I get past his history with Emilia and the answer is a big fat yes. So this is Dean and Rosie's story and although we know a little about Dean Rosie was a mystery. We know Rosie is sick but and I think it was a good thing we don't dwell too much on it what we do get is getting to know Rosie. Of the two sisters Rosie is my favourite because of her personality and her attitude, she's balsy and takes no prisoners. I especially loved the banter between the two, they feed off each other as you would expect with two strong charcters. Dean was a total surprise for me I wasn't sure I could fall hard for another hothole but the author made me fall and fall hard.
I can't wait to get my hands on the next one.

Holy HotHole!
I went straight into this book after reading Vicious, and it did not ease my epic book hangover, at all...In fact it made it worse! These Hotholes will steal your heart and your sanity. Everything you assume about the story is probably wrong, and it remains that way until the last few chapters. There is so much tragedy just waiting to happen, and there's nothing you can do about it! I may have caught myself shrieking at the book in specific parts...Despite the massive amount of sadness present within these pages, there is,also, a decent amount of laugh out loud moments. Dean is a total guy. The things he says will have you rolling your eyes, because you can totally picture a guy like him thinking her really pulled those words off. This couple was weird, but in a completely adorable way. The characters are addictive and they keep you constantly wanting more. This the first series, and the third book, that I have read by this author. She has cemented herself as one of my favorite authors. I might as well put her name on my bank account, because I plan on handing over my money for all her other books in the future. LOVED THIS BOOK! I will be telling everyone about this book! The cover is totally hot too!

Fantastic read!

I was so excited for this book, Dean's story, but it became so much more than that. Dean has his own demons to battle, ugly memories of the past, and the pain and anger it left behind that he does his best to keep buried. On the outside, he appears to be the party guy, the perpetually laid-back happy dude. Rosie, whom Dean has had feelings for since high school, has had to revolve her life around her progressive, genetic disease, cystic fibrosis. He parents don't really let her make her own decisions and revolve all things around her condition. Always compared to her sister, the successful healthy one, she can't every get them to understand her point of view. They guilt-trip her all the time, making her feel bad for wanting to live her own life, even in adulthood. She faces so much pressure from them that, although she misses and loves them, she avoids visiting home and all the pressure and lectures that come with it.

When Dean sees his opportunity to reconnect with Rosie, it is definitely not something Rosie is interested in. Dean is a manwhore, drunk every day, weed-smoking hot mess. She can't afford to get involved with someone like him, nor is she interested. She just let go of a relationship as it is to save her ex the heartache that her limited future will bring. How could this getting involved with Dean ever work anyway? He's a hothole through and through.

This book is packed full of so many feels. It's not quite as angsty and brutal as Vicious, but it has its own brand of longing, desperation, and breaking points. I highly recommend this series, Sinners of Saint, and really loved this book! Be sure to check out Defy, Vicious, and Ruckus, and the next book to come, Scandalous!
