BLURB
It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single woman in possession of a dead-end job, shoebox studio apartment, and zany, intensely loyal friends, must be in want of a man.

But in my wildest dreams, I never expected that man to remember me selling overpriced KoolAid in my Rainbow Brite underpants when I was six years old. Life is unpredictable.
Fraser Drake was the least sexy boy when we were growing up: all elbows and knees and khaki pleats and debate club. But right now, in my mother's kitchen, he's never looked hotter, more irresistible. Granted, he's looking down on me as I expertly dance the sock hop scene from Grease. But behind those layers of haughty indifference, I detect the hint of lust.
He is everything I never knew I wanted. Since I met him, my feet haven't touched the ground and my smile hasn't left my face. His laugh is like a well-aged scotch, and I have a feeling I could get drunk on it.

If a Pride and Prejudice/Bridget Jones’s Diary mash-up but with more sex, sexual tension, and sexy sex, sounds good to you, you've come to the right place.

Come Again is the best awkward comedy. Random nonsensical sayings, gorillas, and breasts make repeated appearances. As does an overbearing hag, also know as Mom. It's got the stoic British, a douchey American, and plenty of unfiltered lust. Wants not to enjoy!?!

Did I mention the awkward? I feel that mentioning it twice might help emphasise how potent that awkwardness can be. Come Again has only the coolest and most refined conversations....coughs, not. It brings levity and ridiculously entertaining situations to an otherwise boring day. I have a feeling you will Come Again.

EXCERPT

Fraser was looking like a granite block of control before; at my words, he’s still got that chiseled expression, but it’s wonderful to see the light come back into his eyes. The hot, sexy light smoldering in those (warm, brown) eyes that are set in that (handsome, sculpted, take-me-now) face is enough to melt any woman’s heart. And panties.
“Thank you.” He gathers me against him, and kisses me. The first brush of lips is a quick reassurance, almost sweet. Then, the second time, it becomes deeper and slower. The heat turns up as he gathers a fistful of my hair, pulling my head back. I gasp, grazing his lower lip with my teeth. His whole body vibrates with that. We kiss again, falling deeper and deeper into each other. I start pulling at his tie, and have it off in seconds. He slides out of his jacket, which falls to the floor. Don’t worry, all my sweatpants and discarded bras will keep it company.
I really should clean up more. But not right now. Right now, sex is all I can think about, and clothes just get in the way of sex. It’s math.
Fraser stills as I unbutton his shirt, giving myself a glimpse of that rock hard, sculpted physique that I find I happily can’t get enough of. I’m like Pavlov’s dog now: whenever someone takes a shirt off, I start drooling.
I had to try to curb that last time Fraser and I had sex. It almost got awkward.
With my help, Fraser strips off his dastardly shirt in a matter of seconds. I shiver as my fingers play up the contours of his abs, his chest. I trail my touch down the steel and silk muscles of his arms. Holy shit, this man must work out a ton.
And to that I say: huzzah.
“I’m feeling a bit more exposed than you,” Fraser whispers in my ear, kissing down my neck. In a flash, he helps pull my shirt over my head, and a second later, I slide out of my work skirt. Now in only bra and panties, I gasp as Fraser picks me up. My legs straddle his waist as he carries me to the bed, and lays me down…on top of more crinkling cellophane.
“How many Doritos do you consume in a week?” His eyes stay molten as he says it, the desire in his voice never losing its edge. Apparently snacking is the most erotic thing on the planet. Lucky, lucky me.
“Some of these are Fritos,” I whisper back.

Blurb

Lost in the shadows of a tragedy that stripped Aurora June of everything she once loved, she’s back in the small town of Balsam Grove, North Carolina, ready to face all she’s kept locked away for seven years. Or so she thinks.

As one of the victims of a string of mysterious disappearances in the small, picturesque Appalachian Mountain town, darkness has become her home—her safe blanket when the world reveals its true colors. But as the walls of darkness start to move in on her, she knows the only way to free herself from her past is to face it, head-on. She just needs to figure out how.

Upon arrival, Aurora isn’t expecting her first collision to be with the boy she left all those years ago. The boy who betrayed her trust with no regrets. The boy who is no longer a boy, but a man with the same stormy eyes that swept her into his current before she ever learned to swim.

She’d thought he was safe. He’d thought their path was mapped out. Turns out neither of them was ready for the crash at the bottom of the cascade.

I love finding new authors I really couldn’t have picked a better one to start with. I love thrillers and when I read the blurb I couldn’t wait to get started.

There are six words in the prologue that stopped my heart and from that moment I was hooked. I was breathless with anticipation as I read the story every word just drew me in and under the spell of the world the author created.

You know from the blurb that Aurora has a connection to the girls who went missing but it is so much more than that. Jaxon her first love her first heartbreak, he is intrinsically linked to her past present and future.

A story full of surprises that I never would have guessed in a million years.

Excerpt

As I approach the edge of the winding river less than a minute’s walk from my cottage, it’s like someone has injected me with life. With a lift of my chin, I close my eyes and inhale until I’m no longer dulled and disoriented. Everything becomes clear. In Balsam Grove, I breathe the air with new lungs, feel the breeze with new skin, and see the land through new eyes.

I don’t try to navigate my way. I hike beside the river, around every curve and bend, uphill and against the current. It’s a familiar path, but my focus isn’t on the destination. Every now and then I stop to take a drink from the stream, pluck a fiery pink flower, and tune into a wild animal scampering across fallen leaves. But it’s not until I reach a steeper incline that I take a moment to assess where I’m headed.

The river has significantly increased in speed since I began walking a few minutes ago. A steeper incline forces me to distance myself from the water’s edge, onto a more manageable path through the woods. My thighs burn from the steady climb, and my throat aches from dehydration. I never planned to journey this far, but I could have at least thought to bring water. I’m ready to turn back, find the river, and drink from it when I spot the top of a familiar red house peeking over the hill. Hummingbirds unleash in my chest as I inch forward.

Mere seconds later, I’m standing on flat land again, taking in the two-story home that overlooks a waterfall, an old millhouse beside it. It’s like it came out of nowhere, but this house—it’s home to some of my best memories, my biggest dreams, and the beginning of the horrible nightmare that ended life as I knew it.

“Ah, that’s my girl,” a voice booms in the distance. “Bring it here, Lacey.”

Shit. Jaxon?

My eyes sweep left, to the source of the river. Two waterfalls coming from different directions spill into one body of water where Jaxon treads. He’s patting the water as Lacey paddles over with a stick in her mouth.

Jaxon takes the stick, then rubs her head before she continues paddling to the edge of the river. After she climbs out and does a full body shake to dry off, he tosses the stick to the side and turns back to the water, swimming lap after lap until I’ve lost count. Every powerful stroke reveals inches of well-cut muscle and betrays his familiarity with the water.

Jaxon always loved everything about the water. Diving, swimming, fishing…sex. I shiver at the memory of how well our slick bodies fit together. Of his delicate fingers stripping me of my bikini top so he could see all of me as he inched his way into my body, my heart. Of his hot mouth wrapping around my pebbled nipple just to hear my whispered cry. Of the way he watched me with hooded eyes as I came for him, my back pressed against a boulder and the plunging falls above us swallowing my cries.

He took everything good from me, but it was me that handed it over for the taking.

He’s still mesmerizing, and I can’t take my eyes off him now. With every stroke, I imagine him swimming away from me, away from our past and deeper into the rushing swell of the stream. How long has he been swimming? How far?

I swallow my anxiety as he finally breaks from his exercise to catch his breath. When he does, I’m as breathless as he is.

I’m not sure how long I’ve been staring when he uses the slick rocks to pull himself from the water, but I’m completely captivated by the droplets coursing down his naked back and arms. He’s all strength and agility, effortlessly pulling himself to his feet. I should turn away, but I don’t. Instead, I watch as water glides from his long hair, down his narrow waist, and then over the most beautiful ass I’ve ever seen.

Is he…?

I gasp, my hand clapping over my mouth. But it’s too late. One slip of my breath is all it takes for Lacey’s snout to jerk in my direction and sound off the first menacing growl.

#NewRelease #ReviewBundle LOVE BROKEN by J.D. Hollyfield @EJBookPromos @jdhollyfield

Title: Love Broken
Author: J.D. Hollyfield
Genre: RomCom/Contemporary
Release Date: February 26, 2018

My name is Katie Beller, but the world, as of late, knows me as Bailey Swan, the love guru behind my bestselling book.
Want the shortened version? Here it is:
Love was stupid.
A fake. A farce
Love was broken.
Women everywhere were eating up my advice and fighting back against fake love. My book started a relationship revolution. And I stood by my story.
Until I met Charlie Bates.
When I throw all my own rules and advice out the window after a week-long rendezvous, I start to wonder just how real my words were. Maybe love might be just a little more complicated than I thought.
Maybe I’m the one who’s love broken.

Love Broken is the ideal "insecurities rule my thoughts" romance. Justifications, judgments, and stereotypes rule the thought process of this heroine. In short, she is just as flawed as you and me!

***(Pardon this tangent, I swear there's a point.) I once heard on the radio that a popular pop star divorced his wife once he saw The Notebook. His excuse was that they did not and would never have that kind of love. As a romance enthusiast, we can get pulled into the hype too. You may not openly compare your spouse or significant other to the Heroes but it happens. So when Katie/Bailey compares the stereotypes to the hunk of a cover model, I'm sure a few people will nod. When she puts herself in that plain Jane role, even more will nod. When she compares her life to those around her, there won't be a single reader that isn't doing the same to some extent. So again, that popular musician divorced his wife because of a love story that was epic and in his eyes, he couldn't live up to it.

What I love about this book, Love Broken is the entirety of the last chapter acts as a reset button for all those falling into that trap. It's a wake-up call. It's a reminder. It's a beautiful expression of the magic of love.

It's also the best conclusion we readers can hope to get...everyone dies. Just kidding, I had to see if my hopeless romantic rant scared you off.

Love Broken is realistic and true. It's flawed and it's funny. It's "perfect." And you will get swept up in the romance of it all!

It's a solid 4 stars for JD Hollyfield's Love Broken. We dive head first into the indie book world with bartender Katie Beller and hockey player Chase Green, but they are better known as author Bailey Swan and cover model Charlie Bates. They meet on tour. What could go wrong.

I enjoyed the banter between Katie and Chase. He just doesn't know when to give up. It's kind of endearing and I'm glad he doesn't.

I have been in Katie's shoes. I have been Love Broken too. It's hard to be optimistic. The walls are up for a reason. All it takes is the right someone to break them down.

This book is from Katie's POV. I would have loved to have read Chase's POV.

Step inside for a tongue in cheek look at the other side of indie book world.

I’ve never been to a book signing but I kind of hope this is true, the backstabbing, sexy models, illicit relationships oh and crazy obsessive readers <—— which I’m not honest.

Katie and Chase were a fun couple to read about. I think we can all identify with Katie at some point in our lives I know I could and Chase doesn’t give up easy.

I would have liked some of the story in Chase’s POV to get inside his head. This was an enjoyable fun read.

The Vasiliev name is a powerful one. We rule with an iron fist and we do it well. Being the eldest, I am Father's best hope at keeping us at the top of the food chain. Everything I do has purpose. Everything I do has reason. Until her. I play my games thinking several moves ahead. Power. Power. Power. Until her. The next move requires I marry and soon. This will strengthen us and secure our position. But I am not to marry her. I am to wed the eldest Volkov. Problem is, her younger sister is the one who awakens my dead heart. It is her I want in my bed and by my side forever. Her. Her. Her. In this game, though, it's not about what I want. But maybe it can be about what she wants. I am Vlad. Vile. Vicious. Villainous. Vasiliev. And I will win eventually.

Reading a book by these guys is like going on an adventure, you’ve no idea where your going but once you start you just don’t want to stop.

This introduction to the V games and the characters was fascinating I was captivated by it all but especially Vlad. Vlad is an intoxicating mix of danger and evil wrapped in a shiny package that I just as much as Irina couldn’t resist.

I’m not going into the plot of the book because it’s one that’s best to go in blind. This is a story with many strands you have the V games, the family business and then the love story.

I hope we don’t wait too long for book two as I’m hooked.

About Ker Dukey

My books all tend to be darker romance, edge of you seat, angst filled reads. My advice to my readers when starting one of my titles…prepare for the unexpected. I have always had a passion for storytelling, whether it be through lyrics or bed time stories with my sisters growing up. My mum would always have a book in her hand when I was young and passed on her love for reading, inspiring me to venture into writing my own. I tend to have a darker edge to my writing. Not all love stories are made from light; some are created in darkness but are just as powerful and worth telling. When I'm not lost in the world of characters I love spending time with my family. I'm a mum and that comes first in my life but when I do get down time I love attending music concerts or reading events with my younger sister.
