Welcome to Hollywood, where wet dreams come true.

I fell for Marlee the second I met her- gorgeous smile, unimpressed by my stardom… bendy.

Not even remotely interested in me.

Of course the girl of my dreams has to be engaged to her hometown high-school sweetheart. Nothing’s ever easy, right?

Until they break up.

And she moves in with me.

The only person who can help her practice for her next role is me.

Because Marlee isn’t just new to Hollywood.

She’s a virgin.

These brothers are the stuff dreams are made of...

Want is all about Jake and his bendy new friend. Yes, I said bendy. Think contract...yes, a naughty contract.
Teacher/student role play...
And a V-card.

The former boy band hunk makes friends with the dancer from his video. Falls for her awesomeness and fresh outlook on life. Too bad she has other plans.

I haven't read the previous books but don't feel that it negatively impacted on understanding this story.

The premise of the story intrigued me I liked the fact that it was the guy Jake who had feelings for the girl Marlee who is completely clueless about how he feels. I loved Jake he was such a sweetheart do tender and caring. I really really tried to like Marlee and there were moments I did but they were fleeting moments I just couldn't get over what she was prepared to do.

The story is well written unfortunately I couldn't connect with one of the main characters it happens sometimes.

EXCERPT

His hand moves to the side of my cheek and his fingers stroke my jaw for a moment before drawing my face towards his. My breath catches when his lips play against mine. Then I feel the force of his mouth and the finesse of his lips as he parts mine and his tongue enters my mouth.

It feels like my first kiss, as he presses his hand against the back of my head, and runs his tongue along mine. Maybe this is my first kiss in some way because I feel something on the other end of his kiss that I haven’t known before: desire. His mouth is hot and hard and pliable at once and I feel that liquid sensation as my body molds into him, my nipples erect and chafing against my shirt. No one has kissed me like this before.

I guess he does want this after all.

He lies on top of me and I spread my legs to make room for him, to take on his weight and it feels so natural. His weight presses me onto the bed and I feel his firm muscles contracting against me, his erect cock pressing into my belly. I feel drunk on him again and can’t believe this is finally happening. I imagined kissing him, imagined our bodies together. There’s so much heat from our bodies that I want my clothes off. I break my mouth away from his, gasping. I’m all ready to untangle my robe and go back to the whole nude thing I was going to do before, but he stills.

“If we’re going to do this right, we need to do everything, one lesson at a time.”

“Like a dance class,” I say. “One skill at a time.” I like that idea. I’m good at learning choreography. I have excellent muscle memory. He runs a finger on my lips and I part them for him.

“You’re a good student,” he says. His voice is deeper than usual but also tinged with more than just that desire. It’s like—I don’t know, seduction or something. “I want to take my time with you.”

I feel safe and comfortable and horny all at once. That’s a much more reasonable combination of emotions, like the ones I read about. In my romance novels. Oh, shit. I realize-those books are about love, and this particular bit of feels always comes before someone falls in it.

Have I made a horrible mistake?

AJ -- Now

He slept facing her.
He always slept that way.
Somehow, every morning, she’d wake up with his arm over her and his face tucked against her side or even on her stomach from when he had passed out from practice. He’d come home and beg her to lie on the couch with him before dinner. He’d ask her about her day, and then he’d ask her about tomorrow.
They clicked in ways she had never thought possible.
It was perfect.
He was perfect.
Everything about him was perfect.
And everything about him was right.
Her heart agreed.
So did her head.
Nothing made her second-guess herself when she was with him.
Alexandra Parker was the girl he loved.
The one he moved mountains for.
The one he rushed from the airport to see.
And right now, Alex was going to be the first person to wish him a happy birthday.
Reaching over, she set her hand on his shoulder, letting her thumb brush his bare skin. He let out a soft sigh as Alex pushed him gently onto his back and threw a leg over his body to hover over him.
She smiled at him, pulling away to let the ends of her hair tickle his smooth face. Slowly, she let her weight fall on him as she straddled his stomach, her palms on the pillows as she bent down and pressed her lips to his neck.
He groaned as she trailed kisses up his neck and along his strong jaw until she reached his ear. Suddenly, his hands settled on her hips, and she bit back a smile, knowing he was awake.
“Happy Birthday,” she whispered by his ear and then moved to kiss his cheek.
His hands left her hips to wrap around her back. Alex glanced over to see his eyes blink open and the sweet smile she loved waking up to spread across his lips.
He hummed. “Where have you been all my other birthday mornings?”
Alex felt her cheeks heat as he gazed up at her. Using a hand, he shifted to sit them up. A laugh escaped her at their swift position change.
This.
Alex in his lap with her hands cradling his jaw was far more intimate than before.
Far more beautiful as she stared into his stunning blue eyes.
Her heart stood no chance when he looked at her.
It sped freely without restriction or doubt.
Without fear or worry.
She loved him.
Truly and madly.

There’s one thing you should know. I wasn’t that drunk.
I was more than sober enough to put a stop to it. The truth is, it was my idea. I’m the one who suggested it.
I knew it was crazy, but it’s not as if I’d be the first girl to get married on a whim in Las Vegas. I wouldn’t even be the last girl to get married on a whim in Las Vegas.
So what’s my excuse? I liked him. I liked the idea that he’d be stuck with me, just for a little bit.
Because nothing good ever lasts, so you might as well have a good time while you can.
GOOD TIME is a standalone romantic comedy set in the same world as Good Girl. This is Payton & Vince's story.

EXCERPT

He thinks I’m funny. And exasperating. And bossy. And beautiful, he said that I was beautiful.
It’s not the worst start in the history of starts, but I’d like to know more.
I pull out a stool and sit down at the island countertop so I can watch Vince work. It occurs to me once again what a shit wife I am. I don’t cook. I don’t give blow jobs. I haven’t asked if he needs anything dropped off at the dry cleaner. I don’t wear sexy lingerie. Maybe I should change? To be fair, the blow job thing is not my fault. I did offer that first night. I meant to yesterday but he distracted me with his tongue and that was that. Gah, I’m just the worst.
“What are you thinking about?”
“Giving you a blow job.”
“Yeah?” Vince responds easily, as if we’re talking about where the cutting board is. “Do you have a list of specific requirements for how you’d want that to happen?”
So he’s open to the idea, is what I’m hearing. Maybe he’ll want to date after the annulment and he’ll fall in love with me? It’ll make a great story for our grandchildren.
“You say that like I’m demanding.”
“You are.”
“I’m extremely easy-going! Everyone says so!” No one says that, actually. But it’s probably just because it’s never come up. It’s not as if I go around asking people if they think I’m easy-going, but if I did, they’d say yes. Probably. At least everyone except Vince would.
“You have a very easy-going way of getting your own way,” Vince states as he sets a pot of water on the stove to boil.
I suppose I can see where he might think that. That might even be a fair assessment. I’m really self-aware. I need to add that to my list of positive attributes.
“So for the blow job, can I tie you up?”
“No.” The answer is firm, his lips twitching like the question was amusing.
Humph. “Can you tie me up?”
“How are you going to give me a blow job if you’re tied up?”
Dammit! Worst. Wife. Ever. “I suppose without my hands it’d be more like you using my mouth to masturbate while I did nothing, wouldn’t it?”
“What a visual you paint, Payton.”
“You’re still welcome to tie me up though. It doesn’t have to be tradesies.”
“Tradesies,” he mutters with a shake of his head, but he’s smiling as he uncorks the wine and pours two glasses.
“So, where do you see yourself in five years, Vince?” Might as well dive in with the talking.
He looks up from rolling back his shirt sleeves, a look of confusion flashing across his face replaced with an amused narrowing of his eyes.
“Excuse me? Is this an interview?” He laughs, placing a pan on my stovetop before rummaging through my cabinets for a bottle of olive oil.
“This is serious. You’ll be old and divorced. Think about that.”
“An annulment doesn’t count as a divorce. It doesn’t count as anything.”
“Try telling that to Britney. She’s gonna have that nineteen-hour marriage on her Wikipedia page until she dies. Wikipedia, Vince. That’s forever.”
“Okay, whoa. Let’s step back a moment here.”
“Do you need a wife with benefits?” I press on, because taking a step back doesn’t sound like it will get me anywhere.
“What exactly does that mean?”
“I have health insurance. Do you need health insurance? I could add you to my plan. It’s very reasonable, adding a spouse only costs like an extra two hundred dollars a month. It’s a really good plan, too. At least that’s what Lydia told me and she works in Human Resources so she would know. I’m no benefits package expert.”
“That’s not what the term ‘with benefits’ means.”
“Listen, in this case I think it’s exactly what that means. Society is the one who turned the word ‘benefit’ into something dirty.”
“So there’d be no sex in this exchange?”
“Don’t be ridiculous. Of course there’d be sex.”
“Did you just talk yourself into a circle?”
“Maybe.” Dammit.

TICK TOCK by Jane Harvey-Berrick

“If you love military romance, if you love suspense, then TICK TOCK will be for you”

"A story of courage and compassion in the darkest places”

Amazon World http://relinks.me/B07GB16S3P
Available in KU

Prologue - James

We’re born alone and we die alone.

I’ve never been afraid of dying. It’s living that scares the hell out of me.

But in the bomb suit, I am utterly alone.

There is no today, no yesterday, no tomorrow.

Just here, right now.

There is no God, no Devil, no good, no evil.

Just me. And the sound of my breathing, loud and rhythmic.

Just me. And this bomb.

A bomb is a device that is designed to kill, maim or harass.

I’m not afraid. I don’t have time to be afraid.

The sun burns down, the light is a white haze, sweat runs into my eyes. The longer I’m out here, kneeling in the dust, the more vulnerable the team watching my back.

I can’t be quick. I have to be certain.

Because if I’m wrong, I die.

I am an EOD operator.

Explosives

Ordnance

Disposal.

Bomb disposal.

I am the Tick Tock man.

That definitely did not go where I thought it was going!

I'm new to this author and I was definitely a bit wary. Everything about this topic screamed "yikes". The blurb had me worried. The "trigger warning" had my guard up. In the end, it was a difficult book to read. I was honestly uncomfortable the majority of the book. I think the point was to bring across the differences in our two main characters and it shows. I just felt like too much emphasis went on their differences but then the story wasn't going where I had hoped either.

I am so nosey I need to know what happens next but at the same time I'm not sure I want to. The outcome may not have been my desire but it is certainly valid and true.

Reviewed for Sweet Spot Sisterhood

The first thing I want to say is the author has taken a risk with this book. They must have realised that the story was going to cause polarized opinions and they still published.

I can hand on heart say you will not have read a military love story like this before it's truly unique in the genre. The blurb gives you the background of the story and how Amira and James meet but hidden in the words is love in all its forms. Love comes in many guises, family, romantic, friendship and faith this book explores it all. This is a story that makes you think it will challenge your perceptions and beliefs.

Every person who reads this book will take something different from it. I really hope you take a chance on this beautifully written love story with a difference.
