In a world of wealth and power, the rules of love and war are nothing as they seem.
Nora Randolph never wanted a life of luxury. But when her mother falls in love with the heir to the British throne, their small-town lives are uprooted and every little girl’s fantasy becomes her reality. All too quickly, she learns the dangers of running in circles with the world’s elite, especially when she attracts the attention of Winston Academy’s resident golden boy.
Asher Frederick has known nothing but favor and fortune. The son of London’s most influential family, his future has been written in stone since infancy. But a tragic childhood loss redirects his course, and revenge has been boiling in his blood for years. When innocent and unaware Nora lands in his path, it’s as if the universe hands him the ammunition to finally drag his enemy through the mud.
But as his plan for vengeance gets more twisted, so do his feelings for Nora. And as her immersion into the upper crust dives deeper, she struggles to keep the secret she’s been guarding for eighteen years.
Heavy lies the crown, and when the ultimate betrayal blindsides her, will either of them survive the consequences that come crashing down on their heads?
Nora and her mum are from a small town in the US, when her mum falls in love they move to the UK.They have moved not only to a new country but they now rub shoulders with the rich elite.
Nora is the new girl and she quickly catches the eye of Asher the top dog in a school full of the off spring of the rich and famous. When we first meet Asher I thought he was an entitled prick, I couldn't find one redeeming feature about him. As the story progressed we find out more about his home life and I finally got him. Nora is very clever girl but she's also naive and kind hearted unfortunately someone like that is ripe for manipulation and Asher is a master manipulator.
This was a good coming of age romance with a mystery bubbling under the surface. My only gripe is at times I felt Asher's dialogue was out of place for someone his age.

⭐⭐⭐✮

This book was a fantastic, and I loved it more than I could possibly say. It shows class struggles, and politics with fairytale undertones. I was captivated the entire time. There's angst and suspense, and you get betrayals and forgiveness. The villain isn't one you would expect. You hate our boy through most of the book, but at the same time you reluctantly fall head over heals in love with him. You feel for our girl, and wish she knew half of what the author lets us know. I loved the dual perspectives in this story, because you always felt like the story was confiding in you and revealing secrets that even the characters couldn't know...yet. The fairytale happening behind the scenes, makes the story magical I. It's own way, and the relatable moments make you imagine it all happening to you. I recommend this story to the highest degree, and hope you all rush out and pick up your own copy....like right now. Read this book! I promise you will love every minute of it.
