Vampire Elizabeth was looking for a distraction when she took a job on the isolated estate of scientist Dr. Owen Bennett. Expecting him to be an eccentric old man, the Doctor, turns out to be a lot younger than expected and sparks fly. As Liz struggles with her past and a possible future with Owen, she realizes that things around the Bennett compound aren’t quite adding up.
Suspecting that Dr. Bennett might be a vampire, she begins to search for evidence. However, the more she learns, the more questions she has. To add to the mystery, the doctor’s wife has seemingly vanished, he’s tight-lipped about who they work for, and his research is kept under lock and key.
When the pieces finally come together, Elizabeth is faced with a secret that could have serious repercussions for all Moroi vampires. Could she be on the wrong side?
Now that she’s found the second life she's been searching for, can Elizabeth find her way through this web of secrets and lies or will they be the downfall of it all?
Crimson isn't your typical vampire tale. It's a bit too human for the Moroi in this story. 😉
Being a vampire isn't easy. Life has so many complications. Like dead neighbors and inheritance laws...
Crimson is definitely an entertaining adventure with plenty of ups and downs. I look forward to Scarlett. I think complicated is an understatement to what is about to happen.

I always think it's a leap of faith when you find a new author and I'm glad I took a chance on this book. The author has put a new spin on this genre it feel a more modern and little edgier.
Elizabeth/Emilie is a vampire with a big heart she's sensitive and empathetic not your tyoicsl vampire traits. She takes a job teaching the children of Owen who are quite adorable.
The attraction she feels is not just for his blood which lets be clear she needs to survive. For someone who has resolved to remain free of entanglements her feelings for Owen and his children could be deadly.
I liked both main characters, the author did a good job pulling us into vampire life,. Who knew it was so complicated and with a virus killing off vampires time may be running out for them.
I enjoyed this story and look forward to the next in the series.

Romance Teaser Excerpt:
Biting his lip, Owen's mouth turned up at the corners. "I just… I feel like we understand each other…" he sighed as he shook his head, "do you…are you…"
Cupping my cheek, his thumb skimmed the corner of my mouth.
"I'm attracted to you," his voice came out husky as he leaned closer.
"I know you are," I whispered back before sliding my hands along the sides of his face, feeling the stubble beneath my fingers.
Time seemed to stop as we breathed in each other’s breath. His blood sang to me, and I resisted it’s draw, looking between his eyes and his lips. When he kissed me, he tasted like mint, and his spicy cologne filled my senses, making me want to wrap myself around him.
