ER doctor, Aspen Zimmerman is no stranger to pain and loss. The tragic death of her fiancĂ© catapults her life into a promise of healing—of being the best damn ER doctor her hospital has ever encountered. After all, it makes her feel like she's making a difference when she couldn't so long ago. And when her most beloved patient suffers horrifically, all Aspen cares about is healing her—even though her son has a special way of igniting a fire she thought fizzled out long ago.
As a private security officer, Anderson Hawkins puts everyone's life before his own. With his mother fighting for her life, Anderson is hellbent on finding a way to save her. On the plus side, he gets to spend his time with a sexy and fiery ER doctor who would do anything for his mother. Though Aspen seems to be pulling back—away from any feelings she may have for him. Now, it's up to Anderson to prove that they can build a future together if they both let go of the past. Can Aspen trust her heart with someone when she already feels "dead on arrival?"

This story is EMOTIONAL! It's deep and it will make you feel all sorts of feelings... I loved the characters, and the story felt raw and real. And Anderson....omg I fell completely in love. This story will stick with you for a while. I want everyone to read this!

Review by Anne Milne
This is an emotional story from the start and it will tug at your heartstrings so have some tissues handy.
Aspen lost the love of her life tragically and has closed her heart and emotions off, she has her work and her friends and that is enough for her. That all changes when she meets Anderson he's a mountain of a man in stature and presence. He recognises that he needs to step carefully with her but it's a case of one step forward two steps back. I loved the build up between them yes there is passion, but there is also a deep friendship.
Due to Anderson's work as a private security consultant, there is an element of danger and intrigue which I really wasn't after reading the blurb. This was a well thought out well-written story from a new to me author that I will be reading again.

You know you're going to cry. I knew I was going to. Accept it, carry tissues, and one click. It's that simple.
What isn't simple is the emotional upheaval that the author insists on inflicting on poor (un)suspecting readers! No lie I was a slobbering mess at least twice in this book. I will not cop to any other instances because my book buddies already tease me.
What I will share is the fear...I have always had the irrational but highly normal fear of losing my love. It is this terrifying fear that grips my heart and is made worse any time I read a book like Until I Fall. It plagues my nightmares and I can sympathize with Aspen. She lived or tries to live through my fear.
Fear can be healthy but it can also be a hindrance. In Aspen's case, she is hiding behind her fears and using them as a shield to avoid life. But not everyone is ok with Aspen's hiding, no, one man is determined to find the real Aspen. He's determined to unearth the real woman hiding behind fake smiles and walls. Anderson can't explain why he likes her or even wants to spend time with her. He just knows she makes him lighter in every way.
Although it would be sweet to say that she fell for his charming smile, it would be a lie. Aspen isn't giving up emotion, her walls, or her hiding without a fight. Is Anderson ready or even willing to break through her walls? Neither one is looking for anything, yet, they gravitate towards each other. But denial can go a long way especially when you feed it your fears...
I told you I cried but I didn't tell you how much I loved it. I love the stories that make you feel. The characters that give you hope and make you long for more. This book has them in spades. I have to look and see if any of my favorites star in other books by the author.
Regardless, I will be keeping an eye out for future books from Ms. Burgoa.

Author Bio
Born on the mystical day of October 30th in the not so mystical lands of Mexico City, Claudia grew up with a childhood that resembled a caffeine-injected soap opera. Seventeen years ago she ventured to the lands of her techie husband—a.k.a. the U.S.—with their offspring to start a new adventure.
She now lives in Colorado working for a small IT company, managing her household filled with three confused dogs, said nerd husband, two daughters wrought with fandoms and a son who thinks he’s the boss of the house. To survive she works continually to find purpose for the voices flitting through her head, plus she consumes high quantities of chocolate to keep the last threads of sanity intact.
