Scandalous by LJ Shen
Publishing Date: September 29th, 2017
Genre: Contemporary Romance
They call him The Mute for a reason.
Hard, cold and calculated, he rarely speaks.
When he does, it’s with disdain.
When he does, his words aren’t meant for me.
When he does, my stomach flips and my world tilts on its axis.
He is thirty-three.
I am eighteen.
He’s a single dad and my father’s business partner.
I’m just a kid to him and his enemy’s daughter.
He’s emotionally unavailable.
And I am…feeling. Feeling things I shouldn’t feel for him.
Trent Rexroth is going to break my heart. The writing isn’t just on the wall, it’s inked on my soul.
And yet, I can’t stay away.
A scandal is the last thing my family needs. But a scandal is what we’re going to give them.
And oh, what a beautiful chaos it will be.
I said that I wouldn’t fall for another hothole but then Trent landed on my kindle and I literally fell over a cliff in my eagerness to start reading.
We know from the previous books that Trent is the strong silent one in the group but he’s also the biggest a****le, just the way I like my men. He’s moody, arrogant, opinionated and charismatic and he’s a single dad to Luna who is the cutest little girl.
Edie is the girl you want to be on your side she’s such a bundle of energy. Edie has a smart mouth that often gets her into trouble. She has a prickly exterior
that is a camouflage for a sweet loving young woman who puts everyone before herself.
Age is a number and that’s how i felt about these two because they are meant for each other and throw Luna into the mix and you have perfection.
There is something about the way LJ writes the words she uses, her writing style that brings her characters to life. This was my favourite one of the series it tied everything together and showed all our boys as men with families. The perfect conclusion to a fantastic series.

Trent Rexroth is a Hothole. He is The Mute. He is a single dad. He is a millionaire. He is a lot of things...
SCANDALOUS is every broken girl's dream. A quiet jerk who destroys your world one naughty look at a time. A beautiful little girl who steals your heart. A broken young woman with too much baggage.
Everyone is afraid of something. The "scandalous" relationship in this book is hot and heavy. The naughty stuff dreams are made of.
But everyone has a breaking point...
I love the Hotholes. I love each one in his own way. I love Trent's no f@©ks to give attitude. I love his strength even with his overwhelming self doubt. I love the way he loves his daughter. He won't replace Vicious in my naughty dreams but I loved learning more about him. I love knowing what makes the silent giant tick.
To all those out there harboring a Hothole crush or two (or four), know that Trent will not disappoint you. Also it seems there might even be a younger generation...

Silent but deadly...to my freaking nerves! LJ Shen makes you love the ones you should probably hate. She's Shameless in reprogramming what we want, and so, so NEED! Trent is officially my Second favorite Hothole! I could never replace Vicious, after all, he owns me! I knew this book would break me, but I read it anyway. I suggest that every breaking adult should read this book, and if they don't...well, they probably suck at life. I want more, and I want it right now! So, so much more...

ABOUT L.J. SHEN
L.J. Shen is an International #1 best-selling author of Contemporary Romance and New Adult novels. She lives in Northern California with her husband, young son and chubby cat. Before she’d settled down, L.J. (who thinks referring to herself in the third person is really silly, by the way) traveled the world, and collected friends from all across the globe. Friends who’d be happy to report that she is a rubbish companion, always forgets peoples’ birthdays and never sends Christmas cards. She enjoys the simple things in life, like spending time with her family and friends, reading, HBO, Netflix and internet-stalking Stephen James. She reads between three to five books a week and firmly believes Crocs shoes and mullets should be outlawed.
