The situation our main characters are in is unlike anything I’ve read before, and the plot was very hard to guess what might happen next. So many things could happen, but it was deliciously unpredictable. The danger, the painful pasts, the desperation, the secrets...
I’m not one to give you a synopsis or dissect the character development, but let me tell you that these characters will not be easily forgotten. I need to know where their lives might take them going forward in book 2 and can’t wait for my friends to read this book so I can chat it out with them!!

Never ever has a book wrecked me so much in the first chapter. I was a total mess! Did it put me off? No way... I had to read more.
I loved this book because it intrigued me and for a reader that's good. The whole book I was engaged in the story and with the characters. I thought I had it sussed but then the author threw a grenade in the story and it took on a whole new dimension.
Cora and Penn's story blew me away, it's a raw gritty story but the characterisation was amazing some of the best I've read actually. With side characters who are just as intriguing and necessary for the story, I didn't want the book to end.
This author has written some amazing duets and this first book is right there with them. Roll on book two.
