STAY (Bleeding Stars #5)
by A.L. Jackson
Blurb
From NYT & USA Today Bestselling Author A.L. Jackson comes the next sexy, gripping Bleeding Stars Stand-Alone Novel…
I’m Ash Evans.
The life of the party.
Hot. Rich. Charismatic.
A tattooed rock star with the world at my feet.
I burn through women faster than the strike of a match.
I’ve embraced my lifestyle and live it to the fullest.
Until the day my lifestyle caught up to me.
Willow Langston found me at my lowest.
Literally.
Facedown in a puddle of my own blood.
I owe her my life and I have three months to repay that debt.
What I never should have done was touch her. Kiss her. Take her to my bed.
Love wasn’t supposed to be a part of the equation.
I gave up that nasty complication a long damned time ago.
Now I want her more than my next breath.
But she doesn’t know what I know.
Do I leave to protect her? Or can I face my demons and ask her to Stay?

I may be a bleeding heart for the Bleeding Stars series but when you read poetry like this:
"We bled with the stars.
Where they streaked and wept across the endless sky.
Infinite.
Burning bright right before they quickly burned out.
Ashes."
How do you put into words the way that makes your heart clench? How do you explain the way you have fallen in love with a fictional bad boy? How do you tell someone the joy, the mystifying happiness, and exquisite peace that love brings?
Words that evoke feelings are special. Writing a book that makes me cry isn't that hard, but a book that makes you feel everything- that's priceless.
I read to escape. I read to feel that kind of love over and over again. I read to find more joy in an otherwise lackluster day.
A.L. Jackson has her reasons for writing. I just hope whatever they are she never gives them up.
Stay is another story from the boys of Sunder. It is the story of a closely guarded disguise being shredded. The word "Stay" may not be as powerful to some as love, but it so much more...

Although this can be read as a standalone I feel that it's best to read the previous books to get to know the other characters, the dynamics of the band and how they all interact with each other.
This one more than any other in the series totally wrecked me, my emotions were on overload and when I finished I was like a total mess.
Ash is the smirking playboy always up for a good time but who knew he was hiding so much underneath that smile. Willow is perfect for Ash but she has suffered so much pain in her life that she's afraid to put herself out there again. I get it, you can't get hurt if you don't let anyone in.
This is a book that has it all, its sweet fun and flirty but at times it's gut-wrenchingly heartbreaking and for there the best kind of books the kind that stay with you and make you want to read it again and again.

This review of Stay (Book #5 in the Bleeding Stars series) by AL Jackson is for The Sweet Spot Sisterhood Blog.
Let me just start off by saying that I have been in such a huge book reader's rut and I needed this book bad. Really, really bad. Don't get me wrong, I have read good books, some even great, but none have truly spoken to me. Only a few times a year do I find such a gem. Well, Stay is the first one of the year. I love when books come full circle and Stay does just that. It was an emotional roller coaster. I laughed and I cried. I loved and I hated. Jackson writes such beautifully broken characters. To see them take shape is like watching a child grow. I knew my heart was going to be ripped out with this one, but not when I thought it would. Jackson kept me on my toes because it wasn't predictable.
I absolutely loved Stay, if I could give it a million stars I would, but they only allow us 5. So 5 Shiny Gold Stars it is for AL Jackson. Stay is going to stay with me. It is a definite must read. Stay is a Rock Star romance in Jackson's Bleeding Stars series. It is a stand alone, but they are interconnected because of their band. You need not read the others in the series, but you are going to want to.
Stay is the story of Willow Langston and Ash Evans. Willow is a sweet Southern girl trying to make ends meet and take care of her sick momma. Ash is a tattooed rockstar living the high life. That is until he finds himself on death's door right outside Willow's store. Fate brought these two together for a reason, will it rip them apart as well?
"He would give her everything. Until she wants the one thing he doesn't have to give."
There is nothing sexier than a hot tattooed man from a band that is afraid to love. Watching their wall slowly crumble is heartwarming. To see the realization sink in is the crescendo.

I must first off say I read this as a stand-alone and boy do I need to go back and read the other books in this series. The author knows how to write a stand alone series beautifully because I don't feel like I missed anything. I now need to know more about the other characters but I'm completely satisfied with this story as a whole. Ash and Willow will turn your world upside down and flip back right side. Ash is the hot playboy who you would never expect to have so many layers. He truly makes it exciting to pull each layer away. Willow is the girl we all tend to be. Afraid to get hurt again. Guarding our hearts even from something that can be wonderful. I don't want to give anything away. But I can tell you that this isn't a book you want to miss whether it be the book you've been waiting for or a new book you want to pick up as a standalone. This book gave me every emotion I can think of. The title alone lets you know that this story will Stay with long after you've read the last word.
