My rating: 5 of 5 stars

"I should've listened, should've paid attention. The messages were all there. Warning me. But I didn't see and I paid the price..."
Wow. Just...just wow!
The most emotional and gripping book I've read to date! Pepper Winter's STUNNING and poetically beautiful novel, Unseen Messages, is a must-read! I'll be feeling this book for weeks. I'm certain of it.
This was the first book I have read of Pepper Winter's work and I had heard so much about her I couldn't wait to dig in. I accepted it sight (blurb) unseen and followed the journey of the story blissfully blind. There is something amazing about taking that journey without knowing a thing in advance!
The style in which this book is written is absolutely beautiful. The way the heroine's foreboding messages are laid out in the beginning, her lyrics at the head of her chapter's point of view... poetic. The same is true for Galloway and his inner narrative. All of these beloved characters have very distinct personalities, expressions, nuances, attitudes. Each are so easily visualized. Each are clearly known. I feel like I truly knew these characters. Their joys were my joys. Their losses, my losses.
I have to disclose that I am not an emotional reader. I feel what I read, but to make me break? To make me lose my sh!t? It takes a very rare book to pull that from me. This was one of those gems. I'll have those feels for days if not weeks.
The trauma and terror that the characters endure is so vividly written and experienced that it takes you right into the chaos. You can hear it, smell it, and feel it. It leaves you breathless. You experience their trials and struggles, their inner turmoils and emotions. The love they have for one another. Their evolution and adaptation. The minute details of the struggle to survive.
I'm still so raw from reading this inspirational story that I will leave without spoilers of any kind but with the simplicity of the words that came to mind and noted as I read.
Vivid - Thoughtful - Protective - Desperation - Stunning - Captivating - Loving - Heartbreaking - Inspirational - Shocking - Joyful - Outrage - Relief - RAW - Solace.... I could go on.
I will be recommending this to everyone I know that enjoys reading! It is not a dark romance. Not erotica. It is a beautiful story of love and survival against the odds.
