Sam Stanton knows these simple facts:
~ He is a great catch—successful, smart, gorgeous…but the wrong woman caught him.
~ He has the perfect girl who is madly in love with him.
~ He wasted six years of his life by playing it safe.
~ He is damn good at his job and intends to keep climbing the ladder.
~ He can’t get her off his mind or out of his heart—no matter how hard he tries.

But, what he doesn’t know is just as important:
~ Will he ever really move on and forget how badly she broke his heart?
~ Should he settle for a sure thing, even knowing it’s the wrong thing?
~ Can he give up his career for a chance at happiness?
~ Does he correct one mistake with another?
~ What would he do if she were to return?

Confused yet? Welcome to Sam Stanton’s life.

5 of 5 stars

First I must say I read this as a stand-alone and I love it. This book was equally mixed with romance, comedy, past and present, angst and emotional parts. I love when I feel all emotions throughout a book. When an author can pull off making you laugh one minute and sad the next is when you know you have found a great author. Her writing is captivating and grabs your attention. Sam is the all around guy that everyone wishes they had in their lives. He determined to make it to the top without any hitches but the one that never leaves his mind is always there. Lydia was his first love and in his past. They didn't have it easy when they were together but when things happen to bring her into the present, can things be different this time? You have to read this book to find out. So many amazing characters in this book along with some that you love to hate. The story line is very well thought out and you crave for more. *Reviewed for Sweet Spot Sisterhood*
