Synopsis

Nothing good comes after the third date. Date three is the crucial point when things get real, which is exactly why I bounce out the door, twiddling my fingers at whatever poor boy I’ve left behind. Because if I stick around, one of three things will happen: he’ll profess his undying love, he’ll get weird and stalky, or I’ll go crazy. Like, Sid and Nancy crazy. Like, chase-him-through-the-streets-begging-him-to-love-me crazy. Seriously, it’s better for everyone this way. So when I meet Bodie, I figure it’ll be the same as it ever was. It doesn’t matter that he doesn’t put a single string on me. Doesn’t matter that he’s funny and smart and jacked or that he can play my body like a grand piano. Because even though I’m built for love, love has only carved me up like a Christmas ham. Resistance is something I can only hang on to for so long, and he has persistence in spades. But my heart isn’t as safe as I want to believe, and neither is his. And the second I ignore my cardinal rule is the second I stand to lose him forever.
This story was absolutely perfect. I LOVED the characters and everything about them! Being the math nerd that I am, obviously, the math lines were my favorite. Penny was wild and unpredictable, and Bodie was sweet and absolutely dreamy. I love how Staci Hart's books pull cameos from her other stories, but still manage to keep the stories standalone. If you've read any of her other books, you get all giddy when former characters make an appearance. It's like your own little inside joke. Anyway, this book was fantastic, and I wouldn't change a thing about it. I would suggest this book to pretty much anyone that can read, and is willing to listen to me talk about how much this book rocks! Every element of this story is interesting, and you can really relate to the feelings and characters that feel them. I want more....so much more. Staci Hart never disappoints! This story was nothing short of amazing!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I adore Penny. She is wild, crazy, and unashamed to be her.
I adore Stacie Hart. She gave us a modern heroine who is more real to most than a 27 year old virgin in NYC (no she isn't but some books have them).
I love Penny's crazy. She was damaged. She created her own bandaid. She moved on. Was it perfect? Hell no, she's human.
I love the ties to Tonic and much loved characters from Ms. Hart's other novels.
I loved Brodie. (Not so much his California surfer dude name- except it totally fits.) I love his sweet, kind, and amazing personality. I love his whole outlook on his situation. Most of all, I love his realistic response to a tough situation.
It maybe called Bad Penny but I like to think of her as Lucky Penny.
⭐⭐⭐⭐✮

This book is the definition of fun and sexy with a very sassy female lead.Penny is a woman who will take you on a wild ride her mouth has no filter what so ever, as your reading you have no idea what she going to say or do next. I loved her unpredictability, her witty one liners and her possy of girlfriends were just awesome. She has a system when it comes to guys 3 dates max but when Bodie comes into her life all her plans go out the window.Bodie is a really sweet guy you can't help but fall for him, it's not that he wears you down it's that you can't help being pulled towards him. This was a fun and very sexy story perfect for a lazy day read.
⭐⭐⭐⭐

After reading this book and it only being my second book by this author I want to go on a Staci Hart binge and read all that she has out. I loved Tonic and now I'm in love with Bad Penny. This author knows how to paint with her words and I can't get enough. Penny is definitely my kind of girl. She's wild and crazy but deep down she wants what most of us do. Brodie is the type of guy we all fall for at some point. I loved these characters together and how they both deal with different situations.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

About Staci Hart:

Staci has been a lot of things up to this point in her life: a graphic designer, an entrepreneur, a seamstress, a clothing and handbag designer, a waitress. Can't forget that. She's also been a mom, with three little girls who are sure to grow up to break a number of hearts. She's been a wife, even though she's certainly not the cleanest, or the best cook. She's also super, duper fun at a party, especially if she's been drinking whiskey. Her favorite word starts with f and ends with k.   From roots in Houston, to a seven year stint in Southern California, Staci and her family ended up settling somewhere in between and equally north, in Denver. They are new enough that snow is still magical. When she's not writing, she's sleeping, cleaning, or designing graphics.
