Destroyed.
Obsessive Reading Disorder “Lots of heavy material in this one. Some violence. Super steamy s3x. And best of all, some great humor.”
Goodreads Review from Theresa “Destroyed is a true gem of a story and there aren't enough stars to give this story.”
Between The Lines Book Blog “Once again, MJ Fields brings to life an incredibly beautiful, emotional and heartfelt story that leaves you aching for more.”
Destroyed. When something is destroyed, it gives the impression it's past being able to be fixed. Not repairable. Garrett seems destroyed. Juliana is hiding that she on the verge of being destroyed. What they had has long been destroyed. Until...everyone is thrown together for an epic confrontation.Destroyed may not be as bad as it seemed, it might be worse. Or maybe it is, in fact, just broken. Whichever way it goes, they will both cling to what they know.So I jumped on the bandwagon a bit late...I didn't read book one. It didn't take much for me to get the logistics of the situation though, after that the story was easy to follow.I liked the gritty feel of the story. I liked the rough way about it. Is it hard subject matter? Can be. Does it come off Suzy Homemaker Happy With The World? Hell no, but then most people's lives aren't like that either. I definitely liked it. I may not have been a big fan of their past choices but I like the shape of the story and I can't wait for Brand's book. That kid has some moves. Seriously, planting the seed...Ms. Fields! Lol

I haven't read Hammered but I still managed to understand the gist of the story and the dynamics of the characters.
Juliana is not a woman that endears herself to us as the reader, to be honest at the start I can't think of one redeemable feature, we know she's lied and manipulated to get what she wants, she's taking drugs and gave her son away to her ex-husband. Like I said not one likable thing about her but I couldn't help liking her. Garrett is not really not much better, he's been lost for 6 years he deserted the woman he loves abandoned his family and is living a life full of women and drugs but that's all about to change when his brother drags him home.
As I was reading I couldn't imagine how the author was going to make me change my mind about these two, how would I go from hating their selfish actions to accepting and even wanting them to succeed. I guess my turnaround is due to the author's skill with her words, she conveys the emotions they are all feeling perfectly, the hurt and the pain the feelings of betrayal they practically bleed from the pages.
This is not an easy book to read the subject matter is at times painful but when you get past it all we have a book full of second chances and redemption for past mistakes. Another brilliant book MJ.
