Author J.L. Baldwin - “I would recommend it to anyone who loves a good, strong, heroine and a shattered man she is just itching to piece back together.”

I've enjoyed the other books In this series and I was looking forward to reading Caleb's story as I always felt there was to his story than we knew. From the start we are thrown back into his past and it broke my heart and made me angry in equal measure. Hayley is intrigued by Caleb and would love to get to know him better but for some reason he treats her like an afterthought as if she doesn't really matter, so she decides to move on its just a pity no one told her heart. Then something happens that makes him realize that Hayley is worth taking a chance on but can they get past his very real hangups and distrust of women. I enjoyed the story, it is multi layered with quite a lot going on but it is easy to follow, we catch up with the characters from the previous books and I really enjoyed getting to know Caleb and Hayley better.

Finally, we get Caleb's story. My favorite brooding, silent sexy man finally tells us his story. And what a story it was...
Learning to let go of the past and move on is definitely an issue for Caleb. His deep seated issues are not the brush it off and suck it up kind. I'm glad he found the ability to rise above.
Hayley was on the fast track to being a doctor. Now she is looking at being thirty and taking stock of her life. No man, no kids, and an empty house. Not exactly what she planned...
Don't worry, it will all work out. (Get the lame pun. He's an MMA out...okay, I'm done)

As a teenager I learned firsthand how untrustworthy and cruel a woman could be. She destroyed me from the inside out and took everything from me. The first chance I got, I ran, and have been running from my past ever since.
Until I met Hayley.
She's a complete game changer.
She's everything I never thought a woman could be.
She's honest and sincere and completely selfless,
And by some miracle she's fighting for me.
I'm learning if I want to keep her, I'm going to need to find the courage to fight for us instead of finding the strength to run.
