Danielle Pearl
Genre: New Adult Romance
Publishing Date: October 10th, 2017
Three years ago she was left in pieces . . . Most college freshmen love the newfound freedom of living on campus, but none of them craves it like Beth Caplan. One ill-fated night when she was fifteen left her locked in a posh prison of private tutors. It's for the best, everyone said, and maybe it was. But after years of hard work and healing, the one person who never thought of her as broken could be the one to break her all over again. And Beth can't seem to stay away now any more than she could all those years ago.As soon as David March learned his best friend's little sister was enrolling at his school, he promised to look after her, and promised himself he'd keep a safe distance. But the sweet little girl he'd grown up with has transformed into a gorgeous young woman, and she's attracting attention from people she shouldn't-like the ex who nearly destroyed her and a strange new student with a disturbing habit of showing up wherever Beth goes. But for David, the most troubling discovery is realizing that he doesn't just want Beth to be safe. He wants her to be his.

I'm sporting a giddy, giggly smile from an ending I called but still had to cling to hope would happen. But not all my predictions were accurate...can't tell you which.
This was my first Danielle Pearl book and I look forward to catching up. I think Sammy might need a chill pill though. Anyone can understand but dude, brother's best friend is major hottie points. lol. Guys don't mind the sister's best friend, but once your sister thinks about your friend all bets are off. Too bad!
Enjoy the fun and guess away. See if you can figure out who is who or what?

Often when I read short stories I’m disappointed because there is very little story but not this one. This is a quick sexy read, characters I like with a fun storyline.

This is both a newish trope (I may have only read one other like it) , and a new author for me. I don’t regret either. I like when a story makes me guess. I like coming up with theories, even if I am right or wrong about them. It makes the book an experience to be had instead of just pages to be read. I loved Beth and David’s story. The forbidden ‘I want you but I shouldn’t, and also, I don’t think you truly see me’ dynamic build the angst and the suspense to the point where you can’t stop reading. This was my case, and I don’t regret a single minute of it. I highly recommend this book to all the angst hoarding readers in the world that want something just a little off limits.
