REVIEW
Another heart-warming and emotionally touching book by Jerica! The story takes us on the journey of Cate, our heroine, navigating her way past a hurtful breakup. A breakup that made her think less of herself and damaged her ability to trust others. When she moves away for a fresh start, she encounters a handsome man at the winery. Their immediate chemistry and sexual magnetism are palpable.
Max, our hero in this tale, is quite tall, dark, and stunningly gorgeous. He is originally from Chile, with barely any accent. He is very drawn to Cate and has his eyes set on her.
Cate is petite, about shoulder height to Max, with dark hair and strikingly blue eyes. Next to Max, she feels vulnerable in both good and not-so-good ways, his presence all consuming, stealing away her breath.
In his pursuit, Max is met with her continued resistance. How will she get past her insecurities and inability to trust? How patient can Max really be? What major plot twist will create a major problem for Cate? What will be Max's breaking point?
There are a lot of real-life issues within the story that bring out all the feels. It is so well written, making it so easy to empathize with the characters and what they're going through. I felt like I really knew them, as with all of Jerica's characters in her books. The heat in this book was especially good. Every scene was written just right, in my opinion, its timing and excitement level on point. This book held my attention from start to finish! This was not my first read by Jerica and will certainly not be my last!
