This book was such an emotionally charged and desperate love story. I couldn't put it down... but when I HAD to put it down to "adult" and "mom" on occasion, I couldn't stop thinking about it. It has allllll the feels.
Neesy, a small, willowy woman, is a kind-hearted, selfless person with the biggest and tenderest of hearts. She is also ridiculously clumsy and comes with a tagline of her own, "I'm okay!" due to her consistent mishaps. She's incredibly witty, and can take just about any serious or stressful situation and turn it around, making people feel her warmth and light.
Adrian is full of pain and self-loathing. He is full of warring emotions and self-deprecating feelings of deserving the hell he has living in, one he has created. When he witnesses Neesy's compassion for a child in a chance encounter, he knows she is what he has been looking for. He is desperate for help with a situation at home. While Neesy has clearly noticed how gorgeous this man is --tall, olive-skinned, dark hair, chocolate eyes, and a healthy, masculine frame-- he is also, very obviously off-limits.
Be prepared for a heart-wrenching love story about patience, understanding, second chances and forgiveness. This book covers it all. It is absolutely beautiful and just the right amount of heat. I will definitely recommend this one to all of my romance reader friends.
This book was a pleasant surprise and breath of fresh air... after a bit of a storm, that is. I was surprised about the genre change-up, but definitely not about the quality of the writing or ability for K to pull the emotions and feelings to the surface. She does it with such ease. I will read absolutely anything she writes! Everyone I know that read this one could not put it down. I sacrificed most of a night's sleep myself, lol :) I had to know what happened! Read it and enjoy!!!

This may be a love story, but it starts out very uniquely... like something I've never read before. Neesy is a walking disaster. She's a total klutz, but she's funny and adorable you just can't help but love her. Adrian is her boss and she's fascinated by him. Then he comes to her with a proposition, only it's not what she's expecting at all.
What follows is a heartbreaking story of love, guilt, hope and second chances. It's one of those stories that gets you thinking about life, love, and family. The story and writing are sublime and will stay with me for a long time.
