Man Candy by Melanie Harlow
Review by Becky Grover
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

"Quinn Rusek was one fine piece of man candy, and I had a sweet tooth for him that wouldn't quit."

Now isn't that the truth?! I think anyone that has read this fun, steamy, second-chance story would agree!

Jamie, living in her brother's two-apartment building, gets duped by her brother into having his old high school buddy move into the apartment below her while he waits for his own apartment to be ready to move in. Under normal circumstances this would be no big deal. Except in this instance, she has some history with this guy... humiliating history that after ten years still makes her twitch. She decides to not let it get to her and to avoid him at all costs. It's only temporary, right? Once head-over-heels for him, Jamie continually tries to brush him off and convince herself she has no need to know him now... only Quinn has other ideas.

Jamie has a system. She has no desire to get close to any man. No desire to get caught up in emotions and feelings....in fact it's one of her "rules" and she has several. She has no problem just having fun with them, hooking up for a while, but no attachments and they must follow the rules. In fact, she will set them free as soon as she thinks she feels anything for them or vice versa. She has no belief in real love. It's not real, it doesn't exist, it does not "conquer all."

Quinn has his own version of the story of what all happened "back when" and why things happened the way they did. He is wildly attracted to Jamie and continually tries to win her over. He has decided to challenge himself to prove to her that love does exist...

Will Jamie hold her ground? What will Quinn show her to help her see the love others share? Will he be able to break through the layers of her protective emotional armor? She's a tough nut to crack. Will she push him too far? You must read this yummy book to find out! It is SUPER HOT, and incredibly sweet...to me, the true meaning of "candy" for this book. There are plenty of funny moments as well! Enjoy!

I would recommend this book to all of my book besties!
