[Sisterhood Reviews] RECKLESS TOUCH by Veronica Larsen @Author_VLarsen

RECKLESS TOUCH
by Veronica Larsen

Blurb

He crowds everything into corners just by stepping into a room.
Steely, cold, and focused, he’d do anything to keep me safe.
Except there is no safe and there is no us.
There’s only stolen moments and reckless touches, secrets and lies.
And the stranger who wants me dead.
Cast in shadows and biding his time, he pulls on the threads of my life hoping I'll come undone.
Even surrounded by people I'm completely alone.
Though I’m afraid, I don’t want to feel safe.
I want to feel prepared.
Fear doesn't have to be my weakness; it can be the fire in my veins.
Fear might just keep me alive tonight.

This was definitely a different read than I've been reading lately. It was a thriller with tons of mystery and very little romance. But I was completely drawn in. It is a slower paced book that lets you absorb all the different scenarios. Amelia is an investigative reporter who will do anything for a story that will help her career break through. Even after realizing that she is in real danger the story continues to draw her in and make her keep digging. There are times I wanted to scream at her but than that wouldn't be the strong willed Amelia that she is. Instead of letting fear be her weakness she lets it be her strength. But in her world she doesn't know who the bad guy is and what part of her life he really is from. The whole time you keep guessing as to who really is after her. The author did a great job with the dual pov and I loved seeing two sides. Sebastian is the detective that she meets after the first attack and things move forward after that. This book is intriguing and keeps you on your toes. The suspense and drama are high throughout the book and love does simmer underneath it all. This is a great thriller that keeps you thinking.

I can honestly say I didn't see it coming.
She's being stalked. She's being toyed with. She seems to have an admirer.

When she gets attacked, she thinks it has to do with her newest article. How do you avoid voicing your suspicions but lead the cops where you think they should go?

Well, if one is attractive...things could become reckless.

Surprised by the bad guy, thrilled by the good. This novel will keep you entertained until the end. Just do me a favor...watch your back!
