BEHIND CLOSED DOORS
by Lisa Renee Jones

Blurb

From New York Times bestselling author Lisa Renee Jones comes a brand new gripping and provocative novel that ties into her bestselling Careless Whispers and Inside Out series. You can enjoy this as a standalone, but fans of Careless Whispers and Inside Out will get an exciting glimpse of who Ella really is and some of the secrets she's been hiding from everyone she knows.

Desperate to pay for law school, Skye tries her hand at auction hunting with her friend Ella, only to find a poker chip and a note leading to an offsite locker. The next thing she knows, Jason “Red Bull” Wise—a famous, millionaire poker player—is at her door, accusing her of blackmail. Innocent, she swears he’s wrong. He rolls the dice and believes her, impulsively inviting her along to Las Vegas. And remarkably, cautious Skye takes a risk, finding herself seduced by this dangerously alluring man, on his private jet, and finally living life to the fullest. But there is more than passion waiting for Skye and Jason in Vegas when blackmail takes a deadly turn.

5 of 5 stars

Although some characters from The Careless Series are in the book, it is primarily about Skye and Jason and can be read as a standalone.
Skye buys a storage locker that holds intriguing clues to a man who's being blackmailed. Who's being blackmailed and who is the blackmailer?
When Skye meets Jason, a successful poker player, sparks fly immediately and they have a intense connection which leads to so much more.
Like the other books, this is full of mystery, intrigue, and danger. It kept me guessing and on the edge of my seat till the end.
Another well written complex story.

Skye has a past that she prefers stay in a dark hidden place. She works hard to try and put herself through school. A new friend convinces her to try her own Storage Wars and it causes the biggest variance from all her plans.

Mystery, intrigue, and crazy hot chemistry are the foundations for Behind Closed Doors. It strings you along questioning what you know and what you're missing. If you pay attention, you will figure it out before Jason and Skye do.

I'm intrigued. I read Behind Closed Doors as a standalone. I am aware it ties into other works by Ms. Jones. I now have a need to see just how. Who is Ella? Will we see more Buddha? All questions, I'll need to find my own answers to.
