It’s crazy how fast the buzz comes back after you’ve been sober for so long.
Whiskey stood there, on my doorstep, just like he had one year before. Except this time, there was no rain, no anger, no wedding invitation — it was just us.
It was just him — the old friend, the easy smile, the twisted solace wrapped in a glittering bottle.
It was just me — the alcoholic, pretending like I didn’t want to taste him, realizing too quickly that months of being clean didn’t make me crave him any less.
But we can’t start here.
No, to tell this story right, we need to go back.
Back to the beginning.
Back to the very first drop.
This is my love letter to Whiskey. I only hope he reads it.

This review of A Love Letter To Whiskey by Kandi Steiner is for the Sweet Spot Sisterhood Blog.
Omigod! Kandi Steiner is a pure writing genius. I absolutely loved this book and I am suffering such a Whiskey hangover right now. I never wanted this book to end. If I could give this book a million gold shining stars I would, but they only let us go up to 5. This book gave me all the feels and brought personal memories of my Whiskey to the surface. It is such a rollercoaster journey. I can't tell you how many times I cried or was so giddy that I clapped. It was far too many to count.
"One day, whether you are 14, 28, or 65, you will stumble upon someone who will start a fire in you that cannot die. However, the saddest, most awful truth you will ever come to find ---- is they are not always with whom we spend our lives. ~Beau Taplin"
A Love Letter to Whiskey is the story of B, yes just B and her battle with Whiskey. B and her best friend, Jenna are out running the trail by the lake when B first lays eyes on hot guy ahead of them. Then she literally runs into him. Although, she saw Jamie first, Jenna seemed to steal the show. Jamie and Jenna would go on to date most of that school year. Jamie was a senior and B and Jenna were juniors. Through this B and Jamie forged a tight friendship. Could this friendship evolve and withstand the tests of time? You have to read it to find out.

"IT’S CRAZY HOW FAST the buzz comes back after you’ve been sober for so long. I opened my door and felt tipsy just at the sight of him, eyes blurring and legs shaking. It used to take me at least a shot to get to this point, but my tolerance level had been weakened by distance and time, and just seeing him warmed my blood. I gripped the knob tighter, as if that’d help, but it was like trying to chug water after passing the point of no return. Whiskey stood there, on my doorstep, just like he had one year before. I understand comparing a relationship and/or person to drugs or alcohol. They can be so addicting. Quitting them is a real struggle. This touches home with me. I too had a Whiskey. He consumed me. I hid him from my son's father and it destroyed our relationship. He gave me second chance, but I fell off the wagon once and lost everything. Quitting cold turkey is so hard. It's been almost 3 years since I hopped back up on the wagon. Sure, I think about him from time to time, but I'm no longer consumed by him.

There is so much to say about this book and the level of feels you will experience. The nostalgia it brings up in almost everyone I've heard from that also reviewed this book is unreal. We have all experienced an all-consuming love at one point or another in our lives, even it is not with whom we married and are happy with today. Kandi did such an amazing job fleshing out these characters and describing that addictive pull when near that certain someone. I've experienced it. That pull towards someone you shouldn't be with. The one you can't say no to even though you know it's wrong. It was short-lived for me, I can't imagine going through it for over ten years like our heroine, B. But for B and Whiskey, it wasn't always wrong. Just seemingly impossible.
These two, B and Whiskey (Jamie), are like star-crossed lovers. They can't catch a break. The timing of life is never on their side. I was wanting to reach into the Kindle and grab B by the neck and shake her so many times, you have no idea.
This book was so real and raw but in the best way. I want to say more, but I'll get into spoil territory and nobody wants that.
A Love Letter to Whiskey is so full of emotion, passionately hot sex, and intrigue that will have you hooked from the start. I hope you love this book as much as I do!

I'm not sure I will be able to adequately describe how much I loved this book it just made me feel and feel and feel from the first to the last page.
If we're being honest I think we've all had that one person who becomes necessary, an addiction to us that one person we cannot shake.
This is the story of B and her Whiskey. It's a story that spans years and is full of heartache and the pain of love and loss. I felt for both of the main characters even if at times I wanted to bash their heads together. I shook my head in despair at both of them several times, then they gave me hope only to snatch it away.
True love is never easy, it needs work and commitment and strength.
I really didn't think Kandi could gut my heart anymore than she did with Weightless, but I was soooo wrong. She's the queen of emotional overload but I loved every page I turned and every word I read.

Oh my goodness! Omg! What in the ever loving hell did Kandi Steiner just do to me!!!!! I spent the entire book shaking my head, burying my head, or grabbing it to pull my hair out. Not only that but I'm pretty sure I'm now sexually attracted to whiskey, the beverage- ok both- shhh.
If you thought Ms. Steiner was able to bring the feels in Weightless, you will be laughing at your naivete. This book gives you hope and crushes it. It gives you love, then torments you. Hope resurfaces...and the cycle begins again.
This is a book you will need a reading buddy for. Don't question it, just force your unsuspecting book besties to read it. You will need to vent. Omg! I sent my requisite 13 pms via Facebook to vent properly and am now on another author stalker watch list. But A Love Letter to Whiskey is worth it. It is worth every heartbreak, every sniffle, every tear. The thing about hope is it's always hiding waiting for you to embrace it again. A Love Letter to Whiskey may make you lose hope at times but it's always hiding. You just aren't sure whether to hug it or strangle it to the very end.
I have so much I want to say but refuse to spoil anyone's read. Just know that both Jamie and B are people. They make bad calls, mistakes, and shove their feet where they don't belong. This is what makes you mad, sad, angry, happy, and horny too. You can easily experience it all.
Amazing writing
Beautifully twisted tale
Revelations that come very late twist the readers heart
But in the end, what did you expect?
An incredible tale of love that leaves you wanting...
wanting more
wanting Whiskey
wanting...
